People, beware. I have new pics, but....
THERE ARE ABOUT TWENTY-ONE PICS IN ALL. Yes, 21. I think. I'll post the pics here with the image tags, but if it's too many for that, then please, SOMEONE edit them to just URLs. I don't wanna break rules trying to update my hack's topic...
Also, note that they're filled with SUPER PAPER MARIO graphics. Custom, to be exact, since the originals are too big for SMW. I forgot who made the tiles I used, but whoever you are, I thank you for making them. Oh yeah, and the hack is now called Super Luigi: The Starry Race, and for good reason! Now, the pics!
It's-a Luigi! See the Venus Fire Trap try to burn Luigi! See the SPM pipes! ...Look at my new ? Block graphic. It shines, just like the SMB3 Bricks do! The Note Block's been changed, too! Nice, huh?
Luigi walking through some Small SPM Pipes. (Note that it's still SMB3 Mario GFX. I couldn't find the normal Super/Firey Luigi GFX from SMB3 in SMAS! ...And I kinda gave up on ripping from a picture. >_>)
This area's no longer underground! See the waterfall flowing down calmly. See the SMB3 Munchers wanting to take a nibble of you. See the Donut Blocks fall when you step on 'em. Look at the Cement Block graphic now. It's an SPM block? Yay! Got it from that custom SPM tiles set. Munchers and Donut Blocks will get new looks in due time...
Luigi jumps to get you a good look at the new On-Off Block graphic! Please ignore the ugly Donut Block sprite at the bottom. I haven't gotten around to fixing that with ExGFX again so it can use all colors of a palette...or at least the first 8. That's all I ask of it. >_<
Behold! My new Brick graphic. It glows instead of shines. And yes, I took it from the aforementioned custom SPM set. Did I mention my ? Blocks are based on the ? Block found in those tiles, too? No? Oh. I should've mentioned that. Well, now you know.
My new "Used" Block graphic. The "> <" face on it is based off the one on the SMW used block, but that's it. This was the first block to use this blocky style in this hack, if I remember correctly.
Behold my pride and joy! Not the SPM Chapter 1-1 ground, but the TREES! Those things were HARD to get in! But I did it, and sacrificed all of Palette 6 for the tree. But guess what? It's totally worth it. Pipes will only use Palettes 4, 5, and 7. Palette 1 is for blocks meant to be yellow/brown, like ? Blocks, Coins, and Empty Blocks. Palette 0, which will be Orange? IT'S A SECRET. ;) Just kidding. I'm using it for things originally meant to be Red, such as Red Switch Blocks, now ORANGE Switch Blocks. Also, it's used for SMB3 Pipe Corners. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT.
Want World 1-2 pics? OKAY! Here we goooo!
Silver Pipeline 2:
Look! It's a house! ...Note the SMB3 ground. Looks like I forgot to change it to the SPM ground I already made for the level. OOOPS. XD Seriously, DID forget to do that. My bad. Anyways, this house is a Shop. Mushroom signs mean Shops.
Your average house interior. Everything is custom. I sacrificed AN ENTIRE BACKGROUND PALETTE for that Toad. Why do you not see much of the outside in the background? Because the Toad's colors mess up the sky. I'm not replacing the Toads. Not in this world. Instead, I'd rather cover up the error. Hey, why try to fix it and make things worse when I can just hide it? Aaaanyways... Press Up next to the Toad, and...
WELCOME TO SILVER SALES! The 3rd shop block doesn't do ANYTHING right now, because it's supposed to be a Portable Springboard. You heard me right. PORTABLE. SPRING. BOARD. But since I forgot what number it is for those... I'm waiting for SOMEONE to get back to me on that. They offered to make the block for me. Juuuust waiting for that now.
YOUR MISSION, IF YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT... Lol. This Toad tells you what you need to do to clear the level. Oh yeah, to the right is his "kitchen", where you have a few Bricks and some ? Blocks. Two of the ? Blocks have items in them. The rest have coins. Two Bricks have Coins in them. The rest? Break 'em. Upstairs...
ONES WHO DOES NOT HAVE KEY CAN'T GO IN. Sorry, couldn't resist. XD Aaanyways... This leads to the pipe taking you to the shed. Don't find the guy's key, and you can't get in there. Go right to enter THE SEWERS.
Remind you of anything in SMB3? Bricks everywhere. Oh look, Blue Bricks. Guess what? Throw Blocks. There's two things you can do here. Either use the Throw Blocks to carve out a path, or just swim up the waterfall.
This is fairly obvious, is it not? I want to say something funny here, but I'm holding back. Oh well. Either get a Throw Block and take it here, or do the simple thing and grab a Buzzy Beetle. To avoid losing it, just walk up against the bricks, hold up, and release the Buzzy. You throw it up against the bricks, smash the second one from the "ground", and then you can either do it again to make a way through, or smash the one on the bottom. Or, do whatever you want.
The "P" means "P-Switch". Press it! PRESS IT!!!!
And then you fall down here. To keep you from killing yourself there, I've made it so you have to wait for the timer to expire before you can continue. Like heck I'd give you all those FREE COINS. ._.
You gotta lead the Super Shell along down here! Just don't kill it, 'cause you'll need it. If you DO kill it, though...
Hop through this pipe, which...
...reloads the room, and spits you out here. Be careful, though. Puntin' Chuck awaits you at the bottom....and so does Chargin' Chuck. :o
THIS is why you need the Super Shell. Bring it here, get it to hit the block, and an ugly vine appears! XD ..Sorry 'bout the color of the vine. I'll fix that later. I swear I will. But maybe it's not so bad. What do you think? Oh yeah, and you don't really need the Super Shell. Buzzy Beetle works, too, but it's fast, so you have to be VERY careful not to let to go too far off-screen if you try it. Super Shell is slower than you, so it's better. Whatever works for you, y'know?
And finally, an unfinished maze of doors. Here, the objective is to find a Blue P-Switch, use it to get past Blue P-Blocks, get a SILVER P-Switch there, and use it back at the entrance to the maze and over to the right to get to the key, then use the nearby pipe to return to start, go back into the house, then go to the... Well, you get the idea.
Enjoy. Now, one more thing.... The screen-scrolling pipes. SPM's pipes don't work well with Horizontal ones. You can still see a part of Luigi at the bottom of the pipe when going horizontally. So, here's where I want your opinions. Do you want me to keep with mikeyk's pipes, which are slow, work well in keeping them like SMB3's pipes, and actually stop the timer? Or do you want me to use FuSoYa's pipes, which DON'T stop the timer, are faster, are glitched a bit in water areas and at the bottoms of levels, but offer better pipe choices, such as horzontal and vertical Small pipes? If you want the latter, I'd like it if someone could try to find a way to be able to make Pipe Corners for the Small Pipes. Thanks in advance!
