[late] Something "The Coin Hunt 2"-ish (possibly an Alpha version)

I didn't like the idea of not having to show anything at all for C3, and whilst looking for something to post here, I stumbled upon an old one-level hack I made for a level contest on my German hacking board.

So, what exactly is this? I intended it to be a preview of "The Coin Hunt 2". If you've seen The Coin Hunt already, you're already familiar with the concept - collect all the coins in a level to proceed. And as you may or my not know, I was planning on making sequels to it - TCH1 obviously has a Game-Boy-like style, TCH2 would be NES-styled and TCH3 would have an SNES style. As this is supposed to be an alpha version of TCH2, it's obviously in an NES style.

Keep in mind, though, that I haven't actually started working on The Coin Hunt 2 yet. This is just what it might look like, and I still have no idea when the full hack will be finished, if at all.

Still, I'm glad I have at least something to show, and I hope you'll like it a little.

Love the graphical style~
I like those palettes and graphics. Is that the coin counter floating in the middle of the screen, though? It looks pretty odd.

So yeah, I'm not really going to be posting for a while. Not that anyone cares.
That indeed looks like a real NES game. Nice, I liked Coin Hunt, and this is going to be pretty unique as well. Great job, WYE! :D

Also, I predict TCH3 will be N64 styled. :P
Wouldn't that be TCH4 that's N64 styled? :P

TCH4 would actully be sega genesis style, but then it might have to be the ring hunt....(bad joke?)

Anyways Ive seen TCH1 and this looks just as interesting, I will probably try both of them out sometime.
Just played this and I think it would make a good level for TCH2. The Coin counter doesn't float in the middle of the screen but it follows Mario when he moves which is a really cool feature. I really love the 8-bit graphics.

Overall, great level! #w{=D}
Thanks for the feedback! :D

Kind of, yeah. I used MidiGuy's port of the SMB1 theme and added some unfitting samples.

As MarioFan22 said, it follows the player. It glitches up sometimes though, which is why plan on changing it for the "real" hack.

Hell yeah! I loved TCH.
I really like the idea of moving up a system each hack. To be honest I loved the gameboy style of TCH, but it's cool to actually see colours for the second one, haha.

Looking forward to this.
