Hello everyone.
3 days ago, I was bored, and I said "hey, let's try to make a kaizo game, just for the fun". So here we go.
So this is the first kaizo game I have ever made. The name of the game is: "A kaizo game that is not too hard compared to some other kaizo game but still goddamn hard and of course impossible without savestate and slowdown". I don't know if I'm gonna keep this name.
Like the title say, the game is not too hard compared to some other kaizo such as the "pit of [something]" games, item abuse, etc... But it still very very hard.

I don't know if I should continue to make kaizo game, so I'm posting a demo with the first world (4 levels and 5 exit) at the bottom of this post.
So please comment and tell me if you like it or if you don't like it.

Some screen shots:

level 1, not too hard.

Level 2, harder. And you can't jump on Lakitu.

Level 3, spinjumping on falling pokey, yeah.

Switch palace, with shelljump and very short time limit.

DOWNLOAD DEMO 1 HERE

Looks pretty nice.

Just a couple of suggestions:
- The platforms in the second screenshot look rather weird compared to the Kirby spikes.
- The Pokey's in the third screenshot look rather odd.
- Its rather odd to call the fourth screenshot a "palace", considering it appears to be outside.

Other than those small bits, it looks really nice.

Well, here are my comments:

Firstly I wonder if this was tested properly, the jump at the very end of the switch palace (right at the door) is impossible, the door is placed a tile too high. If that was supposed to be the end of the Demo then I'd appreciate some sort of message box explaining that.

Secondly I really liked these levels! They weren't too hard (didn't require slowdown, you had me scared there for a moment when I read that) but not too easy either. Overall the levels so far were fun to play!...and then you used invisible note blocks. Again I got scared, but after finding out there were only a few that part was actually quite OK. But be careful with those, they can really ruin the fun when abused too much.

Also the intro has floating and stacked munchers, which is generally not tolerated :P

Edit: I totally missed the other side of the demo :P
That jump where you take Baby Yoshi past that vine really is hard... too hard actually. You might want to consider making that ladder two tiles high rather than one.

Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Oooh look at my userbar!

-Hum, I don't find them weird. But if some people don't like it, I can change these to something else (but what?).
-The pokey have the graphics of the Alternate Mario World GFX, and personally I don't find him to be odd. But if you don't like I can use the original pokey GFX or the redrawn pokey GFX.
-Yes, it's not a palace, it's a... hum... a "not-a-palace"?

Is it possible, spoiler: you need to carry the buzzy beetle with you, throw it up and bounce on it to go to the door. It is possible, I made it.

I know, I only used invisible note block once, only in the start of the switch palace (and also two invisible ? bloc in the level 3). Don't worry, I will not use invisible blocks too often.

Yes, it is a little too hard. Maybe I should make the ladder two tiles high, like you said. I don't know, I'll wait and see what others think about this passage, and if I should make it easier or not.
