REQ/IDEA: Overworld sharing? - SMW Hacking Help

Hi,

I'm new on this forum and still a 'noob' in creating SMWhacks.

And i wanted to start a new project/hack but i'm not the best when it comes to overworld editing. So i was wondering if someone has a overworld available for me to use (one that you have not used yourself already).
it doesn't really matter how much levels there are in it (but 20to40 levels would be nice), as long as it looks nice and works perfectly.

And maby it is a idea to create a new download section with overworlds for people to use for there hacks?

If there is no one that has an overworld available then its ok, maby you can give me some tips instead.

I already have seen the tutorial of chainfire9001 and i understand it, the 'problem' is more that i'm terrible at designing/making the world itself

This is what i created a couple a days ago, i don't really like it, it's to 'basic' and i want some themes in it like desert, snow, volcano/lava

You can give the different areas different themes using custom palettes. Use the Vanilla Dome door in that middle section of the cliff of the uppeer plateau (Above the river to the west of the forest) and the rocks would be a great place for the Bowser Head (although you'd have to make it accessible via a secret exit available only after completing a certain switch palace, I'd say Blue in the forest). That's my $0.02

is there maybe someone who is also somewhat new in this and wants to create a hack with me?

Eh, if you want to create a team, you need to start a thread in this forum, although I'd suggest having some progress/ideas ready first. Showing that you can create a decent hack can help, too.

well...i can't say i'm a beginner but i still have to learn a lot ;)

so maby another beginner wants to try and make a nice hack with me, just for fun....if not i do it myself obvious ^^

Hrmmm.... this makes me think that maybe someone could create an overworld file format... that way, a person sending an overworld wouldn't have to send the ips, which would make the person patch the ips to a clean rom, open the rom with the OW in lunar magic, go to the overworld editor, then open the rom that recieves the new OW with lunar magic without closing the OW, then move a tile, then move it back, THEN finally save. With the OW file format, I believe LM could just have an "import overworld" option, which would open a dialogue that selects the overworld file, and when you select open it imports the OW and saves it. Man that would be a great invention. No confusion for noobs.

I have some overworlds here and here. That second one is actually pretty good, if a bit bland in places.

I could make one for you hack. All you need to do is give me a few guidelines, and I could make one specifically for your hack.
I might start doing this more often to. Only if you don't want on of wiimeisier's pre-made ones though.
