NASA finds bacteria with a rather... unique lifestyle

So, basically, the creatures stick all around with arsenic (which, as a matter of fact, is a poisonous substance) instead of phosphorous for their cells and DNA, which means that we are quite likely surrounded by a bunch of other unique life-forms without knowing it because of our strict definition of life forms as things that necessarily go with nytrogen, oxygen, phosphorous, hydrogen, carbon, and sulfur. This also happens to be a great boing for possibilities of extraterrestrial life, for quite obvious reasons.

Pretty amazing, eh?
Seriously scientists, you THEORIZED that animals with a different biochemistry could exist? Well, the reason we have this biochemistry is because that's what's been available for gagillions of years. Other planets have different things in them, but they could also have different types of beings that could survive in those places. You don't necessarily need water to have life with extraterrestrials. Shame on you, scientists, shame on you.

Also, score 1 for scientists finding something new ON THIS PLANET.
Water is just a mix of gasses, I don't see what's so amazing about it.

layouts suck
Another big step to find life existing out of Earth, I guess. Very interesting discovery, in my opinion, although it won't surprise me so much if they'll find any kind of little life form on another planet/asteroid/moon. As I already said before (well, it was long time ago, but I still remember ;P), the universe is so incredibly and unbelievably big that it has to be a possibility of life somewhere else, I think. And now, that we know that life can use other kind of cells and DNA (even "toxic" ones - heh, I think "toxic" starts to be a relative meaning - what is toxic for what?), it's really much more likely. It starts to be really exciting now.
I was actually expecting something like that.
Come on, life is bigger than you may ever think. One step closer to finding alien life.
i just lurk sometimes
So you're telling me scientist thought aliens could only live with water? I've always been open to the fact that something exists that I could not image. A whole universe is out there and it's entirely possible that something I could never possibly come close to comprehending would exists.

I thought it was going to be a bacteria that rapes other bacteria.
No matter how slimy it is, ketchup will solve it.
This is a quality 2-month bump here. What on Earth does this post add to the discussion? If anything it's a bad, and potentially mildly offensive to some people, joke. :/
