This is my first contest entry, I had to learn a lot to get this level how I wanted (inserting blocks, GFX etc), so I hope it works well.

Santa Mario

While filling in for Santa and delivering presents, Mario's sled is shot down above Bowser's Castle. Will he be able to deliver the last few presents to the Koopa army, or will he succumb to the various traps inexplicably strewn about the rooftops of the castle?

Known bugs: Sometimes when Mario dies, he freezes for a second or so during the death animation. I have no freaking idea why this is happening and it doesn't have any impact on gameplay, so please try to ignore it.

And remember: if you ever get stuck in a room and are unable to continue, just press R to reset it.

Story explained in the readme. That's pretty much it.

Oh, and I won't be releasing that grand goomba sprite to the appropriate section, but I could put it in my filebin if anyone ends up wanting it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I ended up not bothering to make the NSMB tracking thing work. Not like it was actually important, though.

Here is my contest entry. (Now with custom music)
I am pretty new to this website (havent gone on it much) and this is my first post. I am not a good hacker yet, so this may not be as good as others, but I'll still give it a try. The reason I joined this was for fun and to see what people tink of my hacking so I can see what I should improve on. I also do like hacking. I cant get any prizes if I make the top 5, but I will give the prize to someone else who deserves it. Thats it and uh...enjoy.

For some background information I've been tinkering with Lunar Magic for years, but this is the first thing I think is at least somewhat decent.

Mario Saves Christmas. What an amazingly original and utterly awe-inspiring title. It's also quite shallow, since he's actually just gathering up presents, but whatever.

Please read the readme for more details, but to summarize, yes, the overworld (and to a lesser extent, the title screen) looks like garbage due to a graphical glitch that I couldn't trace. But since there's no rule that says that they affect your score...

And yes, the ending was somewhat rushed, thanks for noticing! #w{:>}

EDIT: Protip for those facing the boss and who aren't on good terms with the random number generator: If the item you need isn't spawning as frequently as you'd like, you can jump on the falling rocks in order to have the same effect. Just jump on them before they hit the ground.

Another protip: at the end of the castle level, the platforms will appear in different places depending on what beat of the music you scroll to them.
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.
Return To Ice World

Here is my little entry.

Story:
After discovering a small island in the upper part of World 6 Ice World, Mario decided to take a little exploration.

Bugs: Sometimes, there will be some random garbage tiles in the screen that will show up in a split second. Though that's very rare to happen. As of now, i have no idea what the cause is and there is no way to fix that.

Mario's frozen adventure - UPDATED.
I fixed some various problems.
Finally done. I have did it without savestates, and I hope the judges will to, despite it's actually rather hard. There is a hidden moon, I hid it in a sneaky spot.


A Winter Adventure


Did everything myself (although I asked a question about blocks in the forums, I would still think it counts as mine).

How many judges are there?

Anywheys, I'm quite proud of it. I hope I won't lose marks for not using savestates. Can't wait to play some of the top ones!
