Well hey, Cataclysm's been officially "released" for three days now.
I'm aware of the fact that not alot of smwCentral users are avid WoW players but eh, I didn't see the thread and I figured it's an interesting topic to bring up.

Now the major changes promised in WoW have been in effect since late November, however just recently the two new races (goblin and worgen) have been released.
Naturally people have gone batshit insane then again, I feel as though this image explains what happened December 7th 2010 at 12:01am PST:



So yeah, folks are raving about Cata, and I personally think it's pretty cool. Any other opinions?

I gotta work on getting that. It sounds pretty damn awesome.
Also, 7 hour update = Kill me slowly.

Yeah the patches suck pretty bad, you're better off if you can get ahold of an installation disk but then again... there probably aren't any left...

I haven't played for half a year. But my computer isn't the best. I will first try it out on some private server or something to see how much it lags and then buy the game if it's bearable.

I use to love and play World of Warcraft myself a couple years back, I was a level 80 Blood Elf Mage with teir 4/5/6 raid gear and in a raid guild that was pretty awesome.
But the guild fell apart. What's worse was that we had to switch satellite internet, which needless to say makes it almost impossible to raid (or do much of anything in that game), so I ended up quiting altogether.
We're getting the same internet my friend has who plays the game alot like myself a couple years back, and his internet happens to be extremly fast. I have no idea if I really want to get back to this game though. While this game is really fun and addictive, there's other things I should put my focus on, not to mention this game isnt THAT great. I'm not saying it's a bad game, of course not, but it's pretty overhyped compared to quite a bit of non-MMO games I can think of.
