Classic Rock

Who of you have never heard a good rock n roll?
What do you think?

Rock Band(For Examples):
Jimi Hendrix Experience
AC/DC
Guns N' Roses
Led Zeppelin
Bon Jovi
Nirvana
Rolling Stones
Kiss
Survivor

Which band do you like?
I love bands from this time. My favorite is definitely Rush, as I love a lot of their songs. I saw them in concert when they came down here to Florida for their Time Machine tour. :D

Oh, no wait, thats wrong.

Anyhow, I'm not quite sure what bands I listen too would qualify as classic rock, I guess the closest would be The White Stripes, but thats arguable.

...No. Not that they are a bad band (I enjoy them myself sometimes [Though not because of Meg White, she is just terrible, but Jack White is awesome]), but definitely not classic rock.

Jimi Hendrix Experience <- Good, but slightly overrated

AC/DC <- God-awful. They've only ever written four chord songs. (Actually, 4 is being kinda generous, generally 2 or 3)

Guns N' Roses <- Pretty good as long as you only listen to "Appetite for destruction". They had a few ok songs after that, but anything after Izzy Stradlin left was just "meh".

Led Zeppelin <- Jimmy Paige is my hero. Easily my second favorite guitarist of all time. John Paul Jones and Bonzo are also both very impressive. I can take or leave Robert Plant, he was kinda boring to be honest.

Bon Jovi <- All but maybe 2 of his songs were extremely boring and repetitive. Those two songs are actually pretty good though.

Nirvana <- Why are they on this list? Seattle grunge doesn't belong here.

Rolling Stones <- Never used to like them, but they've recently started to grow on me. Not their most popular songs like "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" or "You Can't Always Get What You Want", but (slightly) less popular ones, like "Paint it Black" or "Sympathy for the Devil".

Kiss <- Garbage. Refer to AC/DC

Survivor <- Torn. On the one hand, I recognize how boring and totally cheesy they are, yet, on the other, I will always remember "Eye of the Tiger", just like everybody else. It's a part of my childhood.

A few important additions:

Queen <- Easily my favorite band of all time, and proof that pop music doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. I mentioned earlier that Jimmy Paige is my second favorite guitarist, Brian May takes first. Just listen to his amazing layering in songs like "Jesus" or "Some Day One Day", or the ridiculous sounds he gets from his guitar in songs like "Good Company" or "Good ol' Fashion Lover Boy" if you want to see why. Not to belittle any of the other band members. John Daecon and Freddy Mercury were both equally amazing. Roger Taylor... Eh, good drummer, bad songwriter.

The Doors <- Poor Robby Krieger doesn't get nearly as much recognition as he should. "Spanish Caravan" and "Light my Fire" had two of the best guitar parts I've heard (especially live), yet if I hadn't put him in this category, I doubt anyone here would be able to tell me who he played for. Ray Manzarek is nothing to sneeze at either. Again I mention "Light my Fire", which basically solidifies him as the best keyboardist in all time by my scale. Plus he played as the bassist and the Keyboardist by using 2 keyboards simultaneously. Neat. Who's Jim Morrison again?

King Crimson <- I was surprised to hear something so abstract actually survive the test of time as they have, but you know, there you go. Neat band.

The Beatles <- Don't care for them myself, but boy were they popular... (I like to refer to them as the Backstreet Boys of the 60's/70's)

Aerosmith, Dire Straits, and Procol Harum as well.
I hate most forms of rock. I'm more of a techno/trance/mainstream guy.

I freaking love you so much now!

Anyways, the only rock I listen to is Japanese rock since I find that better. (No offense to anyone) The only band I've heard is from AC/DC and it's okay, not my tastes though. The only type of music I listen to is techno, trance, and Japanese rock. (Japanese rock is so out of place lol)
HuFlungSno:
You may be wrong about AC/DC.
They have several very successful music you should hear:

Back In Black and Thunderstruck.
@Golden Mushroon: Don't forget Highway to Hell.
@Blumiere: I couldn't be more different than you. I found my perfect opposite. You're positron now.

The music i listen and like the most.
Well, i'd mention
AC/DC (Yes, it's simple and repetitive, but damn, every song is an earworm)
Aerosmith (CRAAZEEEH CRAAAZEEEHH OH CRAAZEEEH OOOH CRAAAZEEEEH. I DON'T WANT TO MISS A DEHNG. DOOD LUKS LAHK A LADY. Steven Tyler's mouth is huge.)
Deep Purple (Smoke on the water...)
Dire Straits (Walk of life, Money for Nothing, Sultans of Swing. ALL earworms)
Eagles (Hotel California... *insert solo here*)
Guns N Roses (OOOOOOHHHH SWEET CHILD O' MINE)
Kiss (I want rock'n roll all nite! Strutter! etc.)
Led Zeppelin (*insert Stairway to Heaven solo*, Black Dog, etc.)
a
Lynyrd Skynyrd (OOHH LORD I CAN'T CHANGE, LORD HELP ME I CAN'T CHAAAAAANGE. FREEEE BIIIIIIRD *insert guitar solo*)
Nirvana (Smells like Teen Spirit, as a trend, as a friend...)
Pink Floyd (We're another brick in the wall... *insert Comfortably Numb solo here*
R.E.M. (Call me when you try to wake her up... call me when you try to wake her up... call me when you try to wake her up...). Well, this one is alternative, but still.
Queen (Bicycle! BICYCLE!... One prize, one goal... Mamma mia mamma mia... Don't. Stop. Me. Now... We Will We Will Rock You. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS)
The Beatles (Hey Jude... Penny Lane is in my ears... etc.)
The Police (Don't stand... don't stand so... don't stand so close to me...)
The Rolling Stones (I was a butcher, cutting up meat)
The Who (YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH)
U2 (One, Vertigo, Gloria, Windows in the Skies...)

As for trance and techno, it's the only "mainstream" i actually like. Pop was good. Was.
i just lurk sometimes
You guys are forgetting Pink Floyd! Adding to the list.
Jimi Hendrix Experience > Never listened to him. One of those people you hear their name all the time(yesterday was the last time I remember) but never get to listening to.
AC/DC > Heard very few songs from this group. Some people I know are obsessed w/ them.
Guns N' Roses > Again, heard very few songs, but they seem good.
Led Zeppelin > Only have a few of Led Zeppelin's albums, but I enjoy them (Kashmir or Trampled Under Foot or Ten Years Gone <3)
Bon Jovi > Never listened to him. See Jimi Hendrix.
Nirvana > Not rock, grunge. I like Nirvana, though(Lithium <3).
Rolling Stones > Paint it Black is good, but I've listened to like, none of their songs for some reason.
Kiss > Only heard the very famous songs of these guys.
Survivor > Never heard of them.
Queen > Love 'em. (I mostly like the more famous songs; Under Pressure, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, etc.)
The Beatles > Love 'em. My favorite songs would have to be "And Your Bird Can Sing", "For No One", "You Know My Name", and "Cry Baby Cry".
Pink Floyd > Love 'em. Favorite albums are "The Wall"(duh), and "Animals". I honestly don't like Dark Side of the Moon that much. Favorite songs?... "Hey You", "One of My Turns", "Bicycle"(due to it being hilarious), and pretty much every song from the album Animals.
Your layout has been removed.

DOH! I humbly apologize.

Pink Floyd <- Despite Roger Waters being a first class dick, I do quite enjoy them. David Gilmore does a lot of interesting stuff, and songs like "Bring the Boys Back Home" are really cool to me.

Also:

The Who <- Seriously, how did I forget these guys? Baba O' Riley is truly amazing, and I really enjoy the entire "Tommy" album. However, most of their most famous songs ("Who are You?", "Won't Get Fooled Again") were extremely boring. "Behind Blue Eyes" is good.

Successful is one thing. I never argued how successful they were, just that I find them to be extremely boring, due to the repetitive nature of their music and the fact that it all sounds remarkably similar. Personally, I prefer music without bridges or chorus', which AC/DC will never give.
