What is the easiest method of playing hacks?

Other than keyboard
The only other thing that would work well is an actual game controller. I believe there's different setup methods for different controls, but as long as you can connect it to you CPU via a USB, you should be able to get any controller to work. There's also game controllers specifically for USB, but of course you have to buy them. What controllers do you have?

Alternatively you can use homebrew emulators on consoles(Wii, DS, PSP, etc.)

Edit: Note that not all hacks work on such emulators
I has xbox 360 controllers :D
If those are bluetooth, and your computer has bluetooth connection, you might be able to use them. If they're wired, you can probably buy something that converts the wire end into usb
Also, if you're thinking of playing it with a Play & Charge Cable, you can't with a computer. You'll have to get a Wireless Reciever for it to work.
I change my layout every 4-5 months
They are USB. So I can use them?
Abusing of glitches.
Ok, so I have my controller now how do I setup in-game?
First, what emulator are you going to use?

Layout by algorithmshark. Additional help by mockingod.

I work with this combination at school:
aswd for walking,

jkli
for keys, i being X, j being Y, k being B and l being A.
works wonders.
At home? Classic controller to usb connector.
Supports 2 classic controllers(pro) and works like a charm.
--Tinti OH I KEEP DOING THAT
--Schrikvis

ZSNES
Go to 'Config > Input', and press "set keys"
Then input the desired buttons with your controller.

For reference, here is a snes controller, and a 360 controller, which you can compare
(of course I now realized how stupid it was of me to provide a link to the latter XD)
Thnx for that ^
