Ah I Was curious to when you'd be returning to this hack again. Very good to know your back though XD.

Anyways your level is looking pretty good so far; I seem to like levels with bullet bills involved with them for some reason but yeah defiantly looking forward to seeing more progress. =)

I was wondering where this thread went! Everything still looks good.
good to hear, Teo! Also, to comment on your level preview, it seems like its coming along very nicely. I wonder if there will be some kind of ice powerup in this world... guess ill find out when its done. I've always liked bullet bills, and i have no idea why!

Well, back to the topic, maybe in a future level you could use some kind of "frozen enemies". Like in NSMBW level 9-7, except you dont only use frozen munchers. :P

Offtopic: So.... how was your vacation? xD
@EvilGuy0613: I was wondering what you'd post if I'd return. Very good to know you're still nice. :P Thanks for your feedback. =)

@hotsos120: Thanks! I'll try to update this thread more often, just like it was in the old times. =)

@Shroomy: Thank you! =) Well, I don't think there will be ice powerup, but there is definitely a new custom powerup in the entire game, but it's very hard, hard to find it, but also very fun, fun to find it. :) Vacations.... Hmmm... If you like living in a house which is smaller than an average room, then it was great. =P But yeah, vacation were cool. :)

New update. This time, I decided to start making an ice cave. If a world has different routes, I can choose the levels I'm inspirated to make. Here's the gimmick I will keep in this level:

Ice Cave Preview

I will also use bumpty enemies. There will be several types of them, flying, sliding, new types will be revealed in the next sections of the level. And if saying about the iced water gimmick, I'll try to be creative. :) I found bumpty enemies in Romi's sprite pack, and I coded the iced water blocks myself. I believe there was something like this somewhere here, but I couldn't find it so I made my own version. :) Overall, I think I used 7-8 ExAnimation slots for this level. Ahhh... Never going to see ExAnimation tool again... :O Anyway, all critisism and feedback appreciated. :)
...Huh?

Haha no problem. (This comment made my morning XD)

Anyways now time for feedback on your ice cave preview. In though there isn't much yet; the level is still looking very well designed and decorated. I can tell that you have some great ideas planned for this level already.

Also I see the penguins (At least they look like penguins) are here; haha can't wait to see how you use them (Also the new types you speak of)

Great work.

Penguins!!

That enemy just made this my favorite world. xD
This level seems like it will be very fun to play. It reminds me of some of the puzzle-platformers were you have to do something before you can beat the level.

I figure ExAnimation is what changes what the water/ice looks like right? Never got around to messing with that stuff... guess i'll go look up a tutorial sometime.

Overall the level concept seems pretty solid. That will make a great level! Keep it up Teo! :P

Those are really nice GFX and I love the penguin haha
Nice use of custom elements for SMW.
Also what's the music?
The ice cave is looking very nice so far, and the usage of the Bumpties is a very clever idea. You don't see them every often in hacks anyway! The gimmick is a lot like Frostflow Freezer's gimmick in SMWCP2, so I can't wait to see the puzzles and obstacles that you can come up with using the gimmick!
Thanks guys. I'm pretty well inspirated, and I'm smoothly making levels. :) Let's answer:

@EvilGuy0613: I had some ideas for this level, and I put the ideas into it. I have frozen water puzzles, curved paths and some bumpty bouncing. =D Thanks for reply.

@Shroomy: Thanks, I hope I can use those penguins somewhere else in the game. ;) Well, the ExAnimation doesn't change only the water from ice to normal, it also changes some wall tiles to not make them cutoff when water changes its status. I had to edit the GFX to not make it cutoff, and it took a lot of ExAnimation slots...

@hotsos120: Thank you. LunarDrake's Graphics are always superb. =)

@Luigi370: Thanks. If I remember... the music is Blizzard Buffalo from some Mega Man game. ... *makes a quick search* ... Right. It's "MegaMan X3 - Blizzard Buffalo", you can download it from this link: -Link-

@Karatekid5: Glad to see this level became pretty unique. Thanks for feedback. As I said, I put tricky traps into this level. I also used the fact this is an ice cave level, and I added a small slippery skull raft ride with bumpties and obstacles. =)

I'm currently continuing making levels for this world. I'm preparing a little surprise for the next update, it's because of a small thing which will happen. And yeah, I'm aware I'll probably quote that text I wrote when I will be ready with the surprise. :P To make you sure I'm still working on levels, I decided to show some screens of newest level I'm working on. The point of this level is bigger than you may think. =P

The level itself is also bigger than an average level. ;P

Woah! Everything is huge! This is the cause of this area being called "Giant Snowy Cliffs". :D

Since land is big, enemies are also big. Since pipes are big, piranha plants are also big. :P

Woah, this koopa is too big. I must get through the tunnel somehow. I wonder what's in those blocks...

Mega Question Block! :D I hope I can get a giant mushroom from it, I wanna eat something! :P

I'm going to introduce some new giant enemies later, I wouldn't want to overflow the first part with many different enemies, it would make the later parts more boring. I of course don't want to spoil all levels, there are levels in the previous worlds I didn't show, but anyway, I have plenty of levels in front of me, and I'll have time to hide them! :P I wish you nice commenting! :)
<supasized> Woah! It looks great! There should be the name... yes! It's here:
Supa sized ice field. </supasized>
Looks very nice. I wonder what's in the giant block.
Haha that level looks pretty great; levels where everything is giant are pretty cool. Some reason I really like the GFX to the level as they fit very well together (Though I'm not sure if they came together XD)

But yeah..I imagine the level can get a bit challenging with Big Enemies and slippery. (Which I like challenging) but yeah great work!

Are there going to be Giant Penguins? xD
These kinds of levels are always the most fun, especially when they have not only a big version of the level, but a version where everything is small. Ah, but with ICE? That is a new idea! I think this will be a challenging, fun level, and I can't wait to put my mario skills to the test.

This Ice World just keeps getting better and better! Keep it up, Teo! :P

Everything is looking awesome. I really like the giant GFX, especially the Giant ?-Block. Things just seem to get even more interesting for this hack
@Luigi370: Super Sized Thanks. =) This update I'm writing might be very nice for you after the PMs we were writing to eachother about playing this hack. =D

@Wormer21: Thank you, nice to know you like it. And if you want to know what's in that block, let's open the Block Section and see what Giant Question Blocks are downloadable and me being to lazy to code some more myself. =P

@EvilGuy0613: Yeah, thanks. I had a tendence to leave the interesting gimmicks for the later levels in the game because I was afraid that I could use them all too early and don't have any gimmicks for the earlier levels, but I had to use some cool gimmicks in the earlier levels too, and I thought it would fit here. =) And yeah, the GFX are actually Giant Ice GFX, I somehow couldn't imagine a normal level with these, so I decided to use them for that level. =)

@Shroomy: If I could leave several days to code them, then yeah, there would be giant penguins. (actually I don't know ASM I used pretty many sprites here, but for giant cave, I would think on making them) Thanks, I'm sure you also will like this update if you truly want to test it. =P

@hotsos120: Thanks, glad you like it. I found the Giant Block GFX in the GFX section, they seem to be redrawn, and I find them way better than SMB3 giant block GFX. Somehow I couldn't find redrawn used block, but I hope it's not a tragedy there in the level without them.

Heh, we got 60 exits here! :D Yay, it's nice to get to a milestone as big as this. I always remember imagining how to it would be to get to 60-80 exits done when I was starting this project. I said about choosing beta-testers for the next beta-testing private demo, and it was going to appear after world 5 is finished. Actually, I was pretty much thinking about the special world stuff lastly. This world isn't big, it has number of levels pretty similar to world 1 levels, and has pretty much twice of exits of world 1, and I'm pretty sure it would go pretty fast with that. And I was thinking if I could do that world before choosing beta-testers, but this world would open more hidden secrets and stuff, so I'll think if I will can make that for the beta-testing. Now, going to the actual update. As said,

it's a 60 exit Milestone today! Woohoo! :D

Do you remember?

Yay, I guessed, I quoted it. :P And with this day, I'm going to show you a special update for this milestone. Is it a video? No. Ok, so it has to be screenshots. Also not. Maybe a new demo release? Maybe not, but everything is possible. Download this mysterious file and enjoy playing (yes, playing! =D) the thing that is there! :D

Mysterious File...!

I hope you enjoy playing this sixty exit milestone surprise. Good luck! :)
Cool. I already was waiting until there will be a new version released with new levels. I'm gonna try this out in my free time :).
It said it is password protected... Nevermind I got it lol... But anyways great job on your milestone!

I was hoping for something at least a bit bigger, but, man, I didn't even find that kind of interesting... :/
Good fucking bye.
@Wormer21: Heh, it's just a different kind of update, hope you like it. =)

@camoslash: Yeah, it's a good way to prevent people from opening the file folders before reading e.g. readme. I hope I can get to 100 exits at the end of this year. =)

@GoldenSonic21: Meh, that was just milestone update. I guess you found secret exit of this level actually. <-

Actually I'm working on the igloo, I downloaded some sprites and I'm going to use some "falling stalactites" gimmick, but I can always get something better to mind I hope. Also, yeah, something might happen if you actually re-enter the milestone update. =)
