Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex-edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem.Not logged in.

Well, I think that it would be cool to have some type of 2-player Co-Op in this one.

Random passing thought, a silhouette style level(s) like the ones in Donkey Kong Country Returns could be a really neat idea for someone to do.
Goddammit, I'm not going to pass this up like last time.

Silhouette style levels would be nice, too.

I'm willing to draw some FG graphics for this hack.

In my own hack, I've been trying to do something like this. The main problem is the BG, as it is horribly difficult to make a fitting palette for this very level scheme.

It would probably make for an interesting addition and a good change of pace. Those levels shouldn't be difficult.

I'm going to have to agree with this. A Silhouette type level would be quite interesting, and as GN said, be a nice change of pace.

I propose a level based around berry gimmicks. Sort of like that one in EVW.

This isn't necessarily an idea for any sort of specific level, but I just thought it would be a neat idea if for this hack we could implement some sort of goal system other than SMW's original one. Like, instead of using the original goal post maybe Mario could go around collecting power stars or something similar, sort of SM64-styled. It would be a pretty neat feature and I just thought I'd like to mention it.

for a few levels this would be cool, but i would not enjoy having to collect stars just to finsh a level. (heck, dragon coins are hard enough)

Edit:
Also, we should have more power ups in this game, the original powers and a few like ice mario would be cool. but I would be really impressed if we created some amazing custom power ups. ('nade launcher anyone?) :D

On the topic of Dragon Coins, I think we should scrap them.
I would find it better if we would do something like one "DK Coin" in every level and instead of needing like 3000 generic coins to buy the special world we could make it so that you need like 100/75 DK Coins for it.
That would make coins be easier to use for other items and would actually give Dragon Coins a point; by deleting them.

As an experienced palette maker, I could maybe try to make palettes for people's levels. I dunno how much of a help this would be, but aside from levels and eventually ideas, this is probably the only thing i could help out with.

Does this idea sound okay?

On that topic, could we create a OW shop system, where we have to pay Dragon coins/whatever to pass? (NSMB style)

We need more strict guidelines on what makes levels "fun" this time around. Carrying P-switches and springboards for screens and screens to solve obscure puzzles wasn't fun in SMWCP, and if levels are going to be this long again, we really need to use multiple midways.

This being said, I'd actually go for quality over quantity. I wouldn't mind there being less levels than SMWCP if it meant we had more room in the ROM and more resources, sample banks, patches, etc that could make it in.

We really need to develop Toad Town or whatever hub we use next time further. SMWCP's was a huge disappointment. An idea I had at one point was a "museum" of sorts chronicling a distant world of sorts, which would actually be SMWC's history.
Here's a tip for next time. More thorough beta-testing, perhaps more beta-testers if possible. v1.0 had a lot left to desire, luckily v1.5 is a lot more polished.

I like the idea of either:

a) Getting rid of the hub completely, or
b) Creating a very interesting hub, filled with ideas like Supertails' museum.
