So uhh what's left for Smwcp2? Is it all done now that the credits and final boss battle are done and inserted?
Pretty much, and while the beta testing goes on Torchkas will be making the credits music.
So the newest baserom is the completed one just without credit's music?

No, Norveg is not in the latest base yet, I encountered some problems on insertion and currently in the process of transferring bases

Well, it started January 13, 2011, which is actually not that far from now, and given all the testing that likely would need to go into this, I have a feeling it won't be finished in time.

Also, if it IS finished then, it would be 4 years, not 5.

After 4 years of production on this thing, do you really think they are going to release a buggy version just a couple months why of it finally being perfect?

Maybe it's just that I want to play the completed and thing and not the baser rom. I think all of use want to play this masterpiece.
I understand that, I'm not really big into the world of smw hacking / hacks, and even I want to play it lol. I'd rather wait for the whole bug tested thing though, I'd like the complete experience :)

what about setting benchmark goals? Like we will have XXX done by the end of Jan. Then XXX will be done by the end of feb and then finally by XXX day it will be done.
We've tried that before. It failed because there's zero incentive for the people who are working on the remaining things to actually get it out by a certain deadline. It's not like they can be threatened with anything either (e.g. "if you don't finish this by then, we'll make someone else do it") because we have nobody else who is willing/capable at this point.
This is just a very tiny nitpick, but i've looked at Mario's graphic and noticed a detail he does not have.

Mario has blue eyes, and in SMWCP2 his eyes are black. I will admit SMW had Mario's eyes black but I assume that was because of his early design.

It wouldn't hurt to make a couple minor changes to fix that detail, would it? (Though I suspect cutscene and other things will need to have this detail fixed too)

Again, a VERY tiny thing, but I felt like I should get that out.

Mario's had blue eyes since SMB.
Also, the only way to make them blue on SMW is to paint them with the colors of his overalls, which would make his eyes get red if he got a fire flower and that would look weird. So i.e. it's pointless and dumb.

There's exactly one free color in the palette row, that really isn't a problem.
I don't think it's so small of a detail that nobody will care, but I personally think it's guaranteed that we'll miss the colour in 20 different spots and Lightvayne has multiple nervous breakdowns due to that.
Not to mention, with how small his eyes are drawn, it'd probably look pretty dumb either way.

So I decided to test out the latest base ROM, just to see all that progress....and notta. Nothin' but a blank screen; it's a 'bad ROM' that never loads.

:(





EDIT: NEVER MIND; I STUPIDLY TRIED TO PLAY THE IPS PATCH ITSELF.
