Changing the intro level

Hello, This is my first thread so I hope i'm putting this in the right place! Ok, I was wondering if there was any way to change the level where the message, Welcome to Dinasaur land! Appears when you first start the game, so you don't get the begining SFX and you could jump right into a Cut-scene. Thanks!

Go to level C5 or C7 I believe an edit it. To change the sfx to music you have to make a hex edit.

Do you know what edit I'd have to make?

This one might be right:
01EB1 $00:9CB
| 1 byte | Level number | Intro level number. Change to [00] and you will skip the intro screen (level C5). You'll warp to the OW immediately.

You could change this to the level of your cutscene.

If you wanted to change the music, this is probably what you're after:

Just change the byte at 01924 from 13 (the default Welcome SFX) to whatever level music you want.
Ok, I think Aquas's method would work best, but thanks The secert exit! Now, I'm a bit of a n00b so can you tell me how I make the edits? Do i use translhexion? If so, what do I do? Srry, I havent really done stuff like this before!

Yep, you'll need to use Translhextion or some other hex editor. There's a good hex editing tutorial on this site, which is right here. That will pretty much clear up a lot of your questions on how to make hex edits, but I'll go ahead and list the steps on how to make this particular edit:

First, make sure to back up your ROM before editing. It's possible that you could screw up something important in the ROM, so this is just to be safe.

Then you'll need to open up Translhextion and open your ROM. From here press Ctrl+G (or go to Offset > Jump To...) and type "x01924" without quotes.

This should take you directly to that offset which should have a value of 13 at the moment. From there, change the 13 to any value you want by typing a letter or number while the blinking cursor is highlighted over it. For example, changing the 13 to 02 will change the music in the intro level to "Here We Go!" as heard in level 105.

After that, save the edits you made and test your ROM to make sure it worked!
Thanks! I never would have been able to figure that out on my own!! Expect a demo of my hack eventually! Thanks again!

I realize that I'm performing an act of necromancy on this very old thread, but it seems to be the most relevant place for me to ask my newest question.

Today I began customizing the title screen, intro level (C5), and music. After using AddmusicK to add my first song to the overworld, I noticed that the music to intro screen had changed to the water song. I don't believe I did anything in AddmusicK to switch the song, and to my understanding that shouldn't even be possible. Whatever the case, I used a hex editor to change the value at address 0x01924 from 13 to 2C. Even after making the hex edit the song remains the same.

I also changed the title screen music, and had no issues there. When I open the ROM in a hex editor and go to address 0x01924 I see the value has indeed been changed
to 2C. Am I doomed to forever have the water music in my intro, or is there something that I'm overlooking?

I appriciate your thought about recycling threads, however we'd rather not see old threads "bumped". You can go ahead and create a new thread for your problems. We (staff) will only start complaining if you make a new thread for every sub-problem that occures. Silly example: You make a thread "How do I change the music" and someone replys "use #lm{music}" and you then make a new thread titled "how do I use the noteblock in LM"...

Seeing as custom music apparently results in a lot of problems, there also is an own forum for it here.

As for your question, try going to C5 and use #lm{music} and select the "Welcome" music.
