Theme: Fire/Ice Castle
Music Options: Fire/Ice Castle, or compose your own.
Briefing: This is the seventh castle, which leads into Norveg's factory. It'll take a lot of creativity on your end to design this level well. Consider gimmicks which could incorporate both fire and ice into this castle in a creative fashion. Also consider enemies that make work in both themes.
Note that if you do not wish to design the boss, simply have the boss door lead to an empty room, and one of the boss designers will deal with it.
Okay, I know you got a castle level, and need a couple sublevels and secondary exits, but why in the name of Christ do you need 3 Map16 pages AND 9 ExGFX slots!? I'm going to keep an eye on this level.
Well, Jesus has PM'd me, and he has given me the rights to the level. He said he was going to give me his notes on what he was going to do with the level on Sunday, and I was going to wait until he did so before posting here, but, It's alrady Monday, so I just decided to make this post anyway. I'm still waiting for his plans though, I'm imagining he had something good in mind, and I'd also like to incorporate that in this level.
The Starting Screen. The level's going to be like a cave fortress type thing using the whole Fire/Ice thing as a gimmick (I'm going to think of how to pull off) as some sort of puzzle aspect to maneuver. I'll think about it during school tomorrow.
I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?
I had pictured that a Fire/Ice castle would have a more cavernous, rocky setting (similar to Turtle Rock, Dodongo's Cavern, or Goron Mines), so seeing your take is a plus. Try to a different tone for the BG color so it can help the mood of the level (not to mention fit better with the music set for the level), and of course so it doesn't blend in too much with the FG.
Also be sure to fill in the empty/transparent pixels in the icicles and ice pillar since they just look odd as-is.
