Still having issues with on/off switches? I cannot find the blocks that appear when i hit the on off os there a toutorial involving those somewheres i want to throwna turtle shell into a onoff and open a pathway but cannot find the blocks that appear and dissaper after the on off is hit

You need proper graphics for those and blocks that have that functionality.

In order to use the graphics, you need ExAnimation. They include a .mwl file you can base yourself off of easily.

The orb is a sprite, so it's added with the "add sprites" window.

However, the orb only displays correctly if the "Mushroom" sprite GFX is loaded, so if you want to always use the orb as a goal then you'll need to always use that sprite GFX (which would be pretty limiting for an entire hack).

One alternative would be to copy the orb's graphics into GFX00 or GFX01 (replacing something you don't need/willing to sacrifice), then use a hex edit to change where it grabs it's tile from.

Do you know of a toutorial somewheres for replacing orb gfx i have done very little editing is hex editing yychr i used it to cha ge my ninte do presents and my title screen texts

Edit whch gfxbinfile is the orb located?

It's in GFX05 and it's as simple as editing it in yy-chr and reinserting the graphics, or a better choice making an ExGFX file and loading that with the super gfx bypass.

Okay awesome thanks for that

So if i replace the orb imagine yychr or whatever and say put it where the star was would that ovewrite the star and the stars properties and turn that said sprite space into a orb that completes the level?

That would only replace the star graphics, the star would act normally just looking like the goal sphere.

Well what do i need to change to change the properties?

Use STEAR to remap the graphics to where you want them to be pulled from.
If you put them over the star be aware the star will still use the same place for graphics unless you remap those as well.

So it will look like a star but act as a level ender

Yes unless you change the graphics like I posted about above.

Okay awesome that should be all i need then because i wont be using a star in this rom hack

sooooo new issue now it seems i have reached my max space on the rom it was already expanded to 4mb via lunar magic i try to expand bigger with lunar expand but i keep getting "cannot convert LoROM games > 8mbits to ExHiROM" so it seems i cant expand more is there another alternative for me like compressing files somehow or something?

Damn, how did you run out of space? That is quite a feat.

One thing I can suggest is checking for resources you aren't using. Music in particular can take up a sizeable amount.

If you absolutely can't trim it down, then... SA-1 allows for 8MB ROMs. You would have to port your hack over though.

Well i think itnwas a bug cause i got it threw yychr
It took to the rom but having a new issue now used miscellanice text editor to change the texts https://ibb.co/s9GFmcY
This is what i get when i press a button on title screen is there any alternate ways to fix this i tryed using the editor again but but saying gfx28-2B.bin is missing...

So... I'm in level 105, and I want to add the Monty Moles that pop out of the ground (like the ones in Level 106). But I looked in the "Add Sprites" window and I don't see them.

Where can I find them?

setting is turned on in the Add Sprites window, turn it off and search for them again.
Note that their graphics will probably look wrong, as they use the "Pokey" sprite tileset, and level 105 uses "Banzai Bill" (tileset are at

). It is possible to mix sprite tilesets with ExGFX (if they don't share their spot in SP1-4).
