Do you actually need the base ROM for the level you are making? If you think you can make your level without the base ROM, then go ahead. I mentioned it earlier alreafy* that if anyone designing levels don't think they need the base ROM, then they can design the levels without it.

If the base ROM is required for what you were planning on doing, then I just have to do a few things before I can upload it to my file bin.

The levels are uploaded via IPS patches to the base rom. Players can still make levels without it.

Actually, at least I need the base ROM first, because I have all of my claimed levels inside Yoshi, so I'm planning on using the base's Map16, since you made the graphics yourself...this is a run-on sentence, isn't it...

I also need it, because my level will be based around your GFX, the custom blocks you've inserted, and I need levelASM (I might not, depending on what I want to do will work (a.k.a. the windowing light thing, and a powerdown system, if I get to expand my limited ASM skills)). So ehm, I might just do the levelASM right now, because that'd be the easiest if I don't have the GFX to work with yet. And I alreafy* have the windowing system btw, thanks to Luigi370 (thanks again!).

EDIT: the thing Luigi370 sent me isn't what I wanted... I'll just ask DarkBones or somebody else :P.
Well, ok. I'll try to get the base ROM finished before Thursday. I've been kind of slow with making the base ROM lately, since I haven't really been up to doing it. It also doesn't help that nobody, besides GravityxHammah, has told me what custom blocks they wanted to use. Also, with the custom graphics I drew, the only ones in the ROM are the ones that I've shown in this thread; I haven't drawn any others.

Well, here is my powerdown system needed for my puzzle (only a demonstration video, nothing else): SMW ASM - Custom Powerdown System. That was easy to code actually :P
Well, I know for flab zone, I'd want some custom bounce blocks (not sure what their called, I've never used them, only seen them in hacks...) For the others, I'm not entirely sure I need custom blocks (although I already know I WILL need custom sprites...). I'm trying to go with whats in the base ROM already, because I have a nasty habit of eating up resources too quickly...

Although a patch I'd like to have (not sure if others will agree) is the powerdown patch that makes Mario powerdown like in SMB3 or the new Mario games instead of like in SMB1/SMW. I prefer that powerdown system better, but if no one else does, we don't really NEED it...

Or maybe I could learn LevelASM, and see if I could code that for my levels, and anyone else who wants it...

I need a sort of light sprite (it's only around Mario, and it's 3 blocks high and wide) that needs to follow him. I need this because else I can't make my puzzle...

Couldn't you do this the way I was in my Enter the Muncher hack? Have a darkness sprite and a layer 2 of nothing but pitch black blocks except for where Mario is?

But that'd reveal to much of my puzzle, I need a circle around Mario to hide the rest of my puzzle...
GravityxHammah, did you know that Layer 2 can go in front of layer 1 if you set the tiles on layer 2 to have layer priority? If you do that, you'll achieve the effect you were trying to create for your level.

But I also need a BG... Nah, screw the BG... I'll think up something for that. And I did already know that, I once built a level with that effect...

Well, in the level of my unreleased hack, I just had a black BG, but you could always use a layer 3 BG if you need one...

Well, in the level of my unreleased hack, I just had a black BG, but you could always use a layer 3 BG if you need one...

If I could only get that to work (trying to use the custom BG YF made for his Yoshi Caverns level, but then we need the sprite status bar...). So eh, if yoshifanatic agrees of this, I could maybe set it up (I mean, I've got it to work once...).
Making progress on my level: its going fine so far but my only problem is the slopes and other things, The level won;t be the same as the original in how it looks. I have nearly done half of the level for now.

For the music:
I ported battle and victory songs.
Since I'm probably going to be going away (again) for a few days, I decided to simply upload an IPS Patch of the base ROM before I leave later today, even though it is missing a few things. Look for the file in my file bin called "YIS base.zip". In this zip file, there is the patch, and a few .txt files containing some information on the what's in the patch, and an .msc file that shows what music is in the ROM (there aren't many custom songs that I put into the ROM, though.)

Ehm... I'm sorry I'm coming with this now though, but I've got my own hack too... Doesn't matter that much, but it'll make me finish my level slower... (or not, depends).
