I'm sure most of you know about our Donkey Kong Country soundtrack projet, if not, get with the times! :V

In all seriousness though, I'm here to present 2 of my newest DKC ports to all of you, along with revisions of some of my older ports due to incompatibility issues.

All of these ports are Addmusic 4.05 and SNES compatible (as far as we all know). I went through and added the respective headers and cleared echo buffers to my older ports. All old ports have been compiled into one zip folder and all ports are 100% sampled.

Comments: Ahhh yes, the creepy yet relaxing mine theme of DKC1, this one was very easy to port. 90% ambience but ironically a lot of tuning issues.

Comments: By far the most complex. This port gave me such a headache after Kieran pointed out the tempo issue. I tried my absolute hardest to mimic that effect. I am very pleased with the result.

Comments: One of my absolute favorites. It felt wrong to not port/revise. There are some very strange effects I could not mimic no matter what such as the crystal effects.

Comments: This one was...fun to port. 50 samples, that was very fun indeed! . The sample bank is literally filled to the brim, darn pitch envelope samples. Luckily the song itself wasn't so complicated.

Comments: I love this one so much . This one has an enormous amount of pitch envelope samples itself. The insert size is so large due to not being able to label loop channels #3 and #5. The song was prone to crashing if I did so.

Comments: I made 2 versions because I didn't think it would be fully necessary to have just rain sfx. This song was rather fun to port too. Nice to see those #/8 time signatures every once in a while.

Comments: Man, huge insert size. This song had echoing going on within the same channels, I think I nailed it though. Slight lack of vibrato in certain places though. Nothing too amazingly complex though. The song itself contained extremely simple patterns as opposed to the occasional glissandos

- Donkey Kong Country 2 - Mining Melancholy REVISE!

Comments: Wow, this one was a trainwreck last C3 yet I still won best music. I really needed to revise this port. It's still slightly off in certain places like the pitch envelopes but I got it in tune as much as possible. I would have done better but I needed to hurry. ^^;

Comments: Who doesn't love this song? To my amazement this song only used 8 samples. That percussion line was pretty tough though. It's split into 5 channels D:! That guitar <3.

You have done a good job with these ports, slash.

These are solid ports all-around. I'm very happy to see that someone is actually standing up and attempting to do as many of these songs as they can .. and the songs themselves are turning out great.

..but you already knew that.

I absolutely love DKC music, and your ports are incredible. It's almost as if they are directly ripped from the game itself. Awesome job on this, and keep up the superb work.

Simply lovely. These sound practically identical to the originals...there's a reason you won "best music porter" at C3.

One thing people should always keep in mind about these ports is that with the awkward ADSR on the sfx channels, they'll make some sound weird, especially the jump sound (I think that's just an issue with Addmusic 4.05). So either people have to cope with the sound, remove the jump sound and/or replace it.

I've had loads of people tell me that was a big "problem" with them. ZSNES also makes them sound louder or quieter than they really are.

I have heard all of these already and I must say you have done an incredible job with these. These are all nearly identical to the original. I'd like to hear some more of these except for ice cave chant that one's mine >8(
Anyway, keep up the good work! You are definitely one of the best porters on the site.

Misty Menace sounds fantastic, some creepy hack would be perfect with it. Can't wait to see the rest of your music Slashman.
