Shadow Sprite v0.70 by Alexander

After almost a year of on-and-off work, my Shadow sprite is finally complete. What it does is utilize how Lunar Magic records the title screen movie in order to make the Shadow reenact a recorded path. In doing so, I've successfully created a sprite that replicates the movements of Mario, and enacts them on command.

Instructions
1) Go to any level.
2) Press select.
3) Move around a bit.
4) Press select again.

Mind you, this is still a bit buggy. I have yet to add proper sprite interaction for a few things.

Notes
- Yoshi is still really buggy. I wasn't planning to utilize him, so I didn't bother to add interaction.
- Disregard the iffy sprites in Yoshi's Island 1. They're custom sprites that were made to work with the Shadow.
- Ignore the player graphics. I put them like that to differentiate between the player and the Shadow (both would use Mario's GFX).

Very cool, I didn't even know something like this was possible. Personally I don't really see a use of it for my hacks, but it may be really useful for some people...probably. Either way, great work!

(people could create some epic puzzles with this sprite)
this is pretty awesome, albeit confusing. So, shadow mario can do anything regular mario can? (like hit on/off blocks?)

It can do almost anything, but interaction for certain sprites is unfinished, so it's still limited.

Alright, so far example, you can have mario go and hit an on/off switch then go through 1 set of on/off blocks, then have shadow mario hit the switch again to let mario through another set?

He means this:

Where the pink blocks and purple outline blocks are on/off switch controlled blocks.
Mario could go in to hit the on/off switch, but would get trapped. So, you could create a shadow to hit the on/off switch, and in the time before it hits the switch, you could get past the purple block before they turn solid.

Not sure. Testing now.

Also, the limit for using the Shadow's recording function is 1.5 screens, since the transition from recording to playback is very abrupt.

The Shadow doesn't currently have the ability to activate blocks. To answer your question: no, it wouldn't work.

I'll add it into the code tomorrow :)
