It's been a little over two months. Think we can give this another shot?
If anybody would like to try and host, they can go ahead.

But I'll be doing slightly stricter hosting guidelines now: You have to post the setup you'll be using, along with the rules before you host.

How does this work when you have multiple players? Players signup before the host. But obviously someone needs to be interested in hosting before anyone can sign up.
I'm interested in hosting. Just keep in mind that if we're doing it like this, you'll need to give me a little bit of time to get a working setup for the number of people signing up.
Uh, I'll sign up. Lets get things rolling.
first the worst, second the best.
Later.

But not as good as third is.
Layout by LDA during C3.
Informity, conformity.
4th has a treasure chest or something.

Seven is a lucky number, so I join aswell.
I don't think we're going to get any more people than this. We've got:

Host
Excavator

Players
phenolatukas
ShadowFire
Lightvayne
superdragonyoshi1
TRS
BlackMageMario
Rockythetigre
EvilGuy0613
Here is my proposed setup:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XU5BKCSJQHbWsTmBFFr2UwwLI6eV3Kz9knkr7xWohRc/edit
Phenolatukas was a bit ambivalent about doing another Election Mafia, and he wanted to know what the other players think. Please post here if you don't want to play with this setup.
I like the setup.
But can the president choose himself or not?
Also that means there are no vanillas, right?

I'm fine with it
Layout by LDA during C3.
can i still sign up? if so, signing up
fine with it
Later.
Sounds interesting.

ELECTION MAFIA 3: BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

Basically, this is a normal round of mafia with a major difference to the day round lynching system. Rather on posting to vote on who should be lynched, you will instead elect somebody to choose who dies. That person will be henceforth referred to as the round's Judge. The good guys are called the Feds, and the bad guys are representatives of the Mafia that have come to bribe some Congressmen. Allow me to explain the rules of this game:

The night round system is completely unchanged. The Mafia members will privately reach a consensus on who they want to kill that night, and unless that player has some form of protection, they will die at the end of the night round. When a player dies for any reason at any time, their role will be revealed. Night talk is on, dead talk is off except (information free) goodbyes.

Voting Procedures: During each Day Round, people will discuss who to elect/who to lynch. When a player wants to vote for the Judge, they will do so in a PM to the host sent during that Day Round. That's right: the voting is not done publicly, it is done in secret! Each voting PM must contain both a primary and a secondary choice for Judge. The primary and secondary choice must be two different people, and neither of them can be yourself. Obviously, your primary vote should be for your first choice for Judge, and your secondary choice should be for your second choice. In the case that there are fewer than three non-scum players left alive, you may choose not to make a secondary vote. You can also cast a vote for No-Judge. No-Judge is like no kill: it basically means that you don't want a lynch this round. If you vote No-Judge, do not make a secondary vote. Anybody who fails to vote within the allotted time period of the Day Round will be ignored.

Vote Counting Procedures: The judge will be decided in the following manner:
-If any player has more primary votes than any other player, they will become that round's judge.
-If two or more players have the most primary votes, the one who has the most secondary votes will become that round's judge.
-If two or more players have the most primary votes and the same number of secondary votes, the judge will be decided using random.org.
-If more people vote for No-Judge then any player has primary votes, there will be no Judge chosen in that day round. If No-Judge is tied with any player(s) for votes, it will be ignored.

Judging Procedures: The voting will end when either each living player has sent in a vote, or the 48 hour time limit expires. Once the votes are counted and the judge is counted, the judge will be sent a PM telling them that they won the election. The judge must then PM the host with the name of the player that they would like killed. They may also choose No-Kill, in which case no players are lynched that round. The identity of the lynched player and their role will the be released ; however, the Judge's identity will not be released. Because of this system, all players must be prepared to judge if possible at any time during the Day Round. The amount of time that Judges at the host’s discretion based on multiple factors (mainly the time that the Judge was decided and the Judge’s time zone). If the Judge fails to send in a PM in a reasonable time frame, the votes will be recounted with votes from that player omitted.

Federal Roles:
Surgeon General- During any night round, this player may send a PM to the host to protect a player. That player cannot die during that night. This ability cannot be used on a player more than once in a row, and may only be used 3 times total throughout the game.
Federal Investigator- During any night round, this player may send a PM to the host to investigate a player. They will receive a PM back at the end of the night informing them of that player’s role. This ability may only be used 3 times total throughout the game.
CIA Assassin- During any night round, this player may send a PM to the host to assassinate a player of their choice. That player will die at the end of the night round. This ability may only be used once per game.
Postmaster General- During any night round, this player may PM the host with the name of a player, and either choose to check incoming mail or outgoing mail. If the Postmaster General chooses to check incoming mail, and the player they chose is sent an official PM by the host at any point throughout that night round, they will receive a copy of that PM at the end of the night round. If the Postmaster General chooses to check outgoing mail, and the player they chose sends an official PM to the host at any point throughout the night round, they will receive a copy of that PM at the end of the night round. This ability may be only be used 3 times total throughout the game.
Poll Master- At the end of each night round, the Poll Taker will be sent a PM by the host. The PM will contain the identity of the Judge for the previous day round.
Selfless Ex-Cop- During any night round, this player may PM the host in order to sacrifice himself. If they do this, they will die at the end of the night round, but the Mafia’s night kill will be unsuccessful for that night, regardless of who they targeted. If the Selfless Ex-Cop attempts to use this power during the same night that the Mail Thief activates their primary ability: they will still die, but the Mafia’s night kill will not be disabled.
Incorruptible Congressman- If this player is targeted by the blackmailer, their vote will not be changed, and they will recieve a PM at the end of that night round containing the Blackmailer’s identity. This player is also immune to the secondary effect of the Mail Thief.

Mafia Roles:
Mail Thief- During any night round, this player may send a PM to the host to steal the mail. If they do so, the abilities of all federal sided players will be negated during that round. This ability may only be used once per game. If the Blackmailer is dead, this player gains an additional ability: During every day night round, this player may select one other player, that player’s primary vote for Judge is ignored (not secondary vote).
Blackmailer- During any day round, this player may send a PM to the host to choose to blackmail a player into voting for any other player as their primary vote for Judge. The victim’s primary vote is then switched to that player (secondary vote is not affected). The victim will be informed that they have been blackmailed, but not by whom or who they were blackmailed into voting for. This ability may only be used once per game. If the Mail Thief is dead, this player gains an additional ability: During every night round, this player may select one other player, that player’s ability is negated for that night.

Saturday 23, July 201X

It was a scorching hot July afternoon. The head of the NSA, Mr. [REDACTED], sat in his office brooding. The recent leaks had exposed the PRISM program had created an enormous amount of public enmity towards his organization. To make matters worse, they hadn't actually succeeded at catching any threats to the nation, other than one wannabe supervillain plotting in his mom's basement. However, at that moment, he received news that two members of the Chicago Mafia had come down to DC in response to a proposed bill that would give federal investigators the power to shut them down for good. It seemed that they were here to bribe members of Congress to vote against the bill- and assassinate the ones that refused to comply. Eager to actually accomplish something worthwhile, Mr. [REDACTED] spread the news around the capital. There were intense discussions, but in the end it was obvious that nobody had any clue who or where these guys are. Night falls.

Players, you have 24 hours to send in your Night PMs.

Only two mafia?

I smell something fishy.

I shall not vote until candidates come forward.
