They haven't even started on it at all. Sakurai needs to gather a team to make it, so...yeah. They'll make it, but they haven't even started on it. It was indeed mentioned solely to get the audience excited.

Now that they have announced it, they have to make it, lest all the fanboys boycott in rage. (well probably not boycott, but some sort of backlash)
The most I expect other then boycott if they don't do it is "zomgz nintendos teh worst company ever they lied about ssb4 they go die in a fiar naow".

Didn't they do this when they first announced the Wii too? IIRC, when they announced Brawl, they hadn't even started on it either.

Brawl was already in development to some extent, such as the concept.

About my feelings towards E3: I thought it was amazing. When the 3DS came out and saw no real games that I wanted for it until around June (OoT 3D) I knew I would go grab it until probably 2012. But then I saw Luigi's Mansion 2, Kid Icarus, Super Mario 3D... it just blew me away. Especially LM2, it was so unexpected. I always had doubt they would make a sequel for it because it's just one of those games you knew it wouldn't happen. So I'm for sure getting a 3DS once all of those games come out.

And Paper Mario 3DS. That's the main reason I'll get it. It seems like Intelligent Systems (the developer of the whole series) completely ignored everything about SPM (thank god).

The Wii U I was anticipating. At first I wasn't as excited as I hoped to be until they showed the trailer. The name just threw me off. But then again this happened with the Wii as well. I'll definitely get it. AND THE CONTROLLERS ARE RECHARGEABLE, IT'S A MIRACLE! ;_; Oh and Smash Bros. made me happy.

And then the regular Wii. Mario Party 9 took forever to come out, it looks way better graphically and the minigames look really fun. It took like 3-4 years to make it so I HOPE it won't be a waste-of-money pile of shit like MP8. And then Kirby Wii looks amazing as I knew.

E3 was really good this year, I'll get everything I can! ^_^

ALSO PLEASE NOTE,
• New Super Mario Bros. Mii, at this point, is not a game. It's just a prototype and it may or may not be an actual game for the Wii U.
• Kirby Wii IS that game for the GameCube, it seems HAL wanted to mix it up with Kirby's Adventure and Kirby 64.
• In case you were wondering, the trailer for Mario Party 9 does not show Party Mode. There are no
• The Wii U, if it weren't obvious enough, is not backwards compatible with the GameCube.
• Pikmin 3 is now for the Wii U.

MARIO in MAINLAND Progress

Mario in Mainland will be in the next C3.
Super Mario 3DS, I found a much better trailer than the one I previously watched and well I noticed some things.

- Right at the start theres a glass box with a changing powerup inside, simular to the glass boxes in SMW.

- Mario has a roll attack? I wanted him to be able to punch like in SM64 but yeah..

- Small Mario :3

- 39 secs in you can see a NSMBW/SMG2 check point flag!

- 43 secs in, that boss looks like a modern Boom Boom! Koopa Kids may be back?

- The theme tune in this trailer has SMB3 like tunes in it!

I really want a 3DS now!
Has this been posted yet? I don't think so; the name is E32011 and the password is nintendo.

Anyway, my thoughts on some of the things I saw: (I focus mostly on the negative here, but rest assured that I was pretty much blown away by what I saw.)

Mario Kart: Back down to eight racers again, which will be nice. I'm a bit worried about the flying and underwater modes, though, if only because I'm worried they'll feel out of place and/or will break the flow of the gameplay. We'll have to see, though, won't we?

Paper Mario: I hope that battle chance roulette won't happen every time...otherwise this is looking great, and I'm loving the extra "papery" effects that are being added.

Super Mario 3DS: I'm a bit worried here also; it seems like they're trying to do a direct 2D to 3D conversion, but the result almost looks a bit claustrophobic. Maybe it's the fact that Mario can jump several times higher in 2D and so everything has to be much closer to the ground, I don't know. Either way I want to see more on this before I make any more judgments.

Ocarina of Time: Maybe it's just me, but it looks like this is pretty much just a framerate and texture bump (with a few other features); the animations still look N64-ish, i.e. rather stiff and unnatural. It's especially jarring when put right next to Twilight Princess like they did during the presentation; whereas TP had realistic movements of the characters and their hair, clothing, etc., Ocarina of Time's movements look just the same as they did 15 years ago. It was fine back then, but now it looks kind of...eh. Maybe it's just the trailers doing it an injustice, though (Also, did they really put "willst thou suck" in a professional trailer...?).

Skyward Sword: Looks amazing in every possible way (but I'm still kind of iffy on the music; I wish Kondo had remixed the music a bit better, since the song sounds a bit off time-wise due to its...unique inspiration). Incidentally, I thought up an interesting theory: Wind Waker and its sequels take place in one timeline while Twilight Princess takes place in another, yes? And Skyward Sword takes place before Ocarina of Time occurred, so it's a combination of the two timelines. This game's graphics also look like a combination of WW's cell-shaded style and TP's realistic style. Does this mean that the cell-shaded style can be used to identify a game as taking place in the opposite timeline from a game with a realistic style?

Kirby Wii: Looks amazing in every possible way. I hope that the different players can be different characters, though, instead of player 2 always being Meta Knight, player 3 always being Dedede, and player 4 always being Waddle Dee.

Mario Party 9: All the players move as one? Hmm...interesting. The minigames look genuinely fun, though, and that's what really counts.

Wii U: What disappoints me is that this looks like it has incredibly potential, but it wasn't demonstrated well enough during its debut. The gimmick looks a bit lame as they showed it, but I know that it can be used better; I can practically feel the potential for creative uses oozing out of it. I really hope this goes somewhere beyond what they showed during the presentation.
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.

YES! ONLY EIGHT RACERS! :D I prefer it that way, honestly. <3 Also, I'm sure they'll integrate the flying and underwater modes to where they're only positive. The Kart customization thing shows that you apparently get one or the other, so there will most likely be multiple routes through tracks that need one of them. Very interesting, no?

Maybe it will only appear when you get a first strike. IIRC, it showed up in the trailer after the first strike. Or, maybe they'll do it similarly to the slots in TTYD, where you got an icon every time you did an action command correctly, and if two match, your third command starts up a slot so you can try to get a third for a bonus. Maybe something similar to that?

Now, that said, I'm really hoping Badges stay in, and that using items DOES NOT require dragging the item to the top of the touch screen, like shown in the original demo. It just seems so pointless when they could just make it be used instantly. :/

Two posts above you. The guy said that's not Party Mode. So, as I suspected, it's a different mode entirely. Yay!

By the way, did anyone else notice how in the trailer, Bowser Jr. showed up in some minigames? Including him, there were only 3 people in the minigames he was in, so I'd assume he's a boss in its story mode... Oh, I hope they make him playable, too!

Hmm...maybe it's just the cutscenes then. At, for example, 0:28 in the trailer, when Zelda's being escorted from Castle Town she and Impa look really stiff as they're riding their horse. Like I said, though, it might just be some sort of artifact from the trailer or something (though I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't fix Zelda's somewhat derpy wide-eyed stare-into-space look when she meets Link for the first time and oh god I sound like Francis now I'll stop). Regardless, it looks like a great game and I'm still getting it on the release date.

Oh, well that must have been a nice bit of nostalgia for those who saw the original, then.

As long as the advantages are equal for both options, then that sounds like a really awesome idea, actually. But that's kind of hypocritical of me to say since I kind of miss the bikes from Mario Kart Wii, which were not balanced...

Pikmin 3? This was a great E3. The one with Wii Music...I never heard from it again. Only 8 drivers in the Karts? I hope there is more to unlock than Big Boo, Petey, Toad and Toadette like in Double Dash. Maybe R.O.B. will make a come back. I sure hope because he was pure hell to get ran over by in the DS. I noticed some old DS/Wii level that I liked in the trailer.
Just checked out the Animal Crossing screens, with it being one of my favourite series Im definatly going to get this, mainly as the screens showed all sorts of cool things such as being able to swim!

EDIT:
The Poltergust 3000 is upgraded in Luigi's Mansion 2 to the Poltergust 5000! Sweet!
Controversial view ahoy!

I have been losing interest in gaming over the last few months and replacing the hobby of playing games with watching films. This E3 for me sums up why I dislike gaming so much now. There is no simple answer to my view, but it is probably due to the fact that the industry is obviously declining in originality. I mean, was there anything high profile announced that wasn't a sequel of some sort? Nintendo is always most guilty of this. I also feel the gimmicks are on hyper mode in the industry right now. Motion controls are going into a dark and lonely corner, and entice casual gamers to play, who in recent years are efficiently starting to kill the industry. Why must things always end up like this? Gaming was fun back when it was considered uncool and not in the majority, now it's so mainstream thanks to things like COD that it just isn't exciting to be a gamer any more. I think the future of gaming lies in the indie developers, who are daring enough to take risks, not like Nintendo who keep packaging the same game with different ribbons attached to it.

The main problem is the Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo triangle. Thanks to move and kinect, none of the consoles have anything interesting that is unique to them.(Except the Wii VC, but that is not innovation.) The PS3 and 360 have a very similar library, except the FPS genre but they are the worst games of this generation and the ones responsible for blowing it up so much.

Right, view over. Needed to get the frustration out. I think this E3 is rather bland and I'm hoping a whole new company will appear with all exclusives that just knocks Sony and Microsoft out and puts Nintendo back in its place. Yes Nintendo, Mario is fun, but you could try something different for a change. Then we would have more games like Pikmin. Of course, now that and Luigi's Mansion are being franchised much to my disappointment, so they won't have that innovative charm any more. On the matter, all I have to say is 'Mario Party 9'. When you get to bloody 9, that's a sign you're milking the cow way too much Nintendo!

Eh, that's probably just me though.
Am I the only one who wants the Vita more than the Wiiu? :E
Well, I counted them up, and there are a total of 10 games that look great, being :
Mario kart 3DS
Luigi's mansion 2
Kid Icarus : Uprising
Super mario 3DS
Star Fox 3DS
Paper Mario 3DS
OoT 3DS
LoZ : Skyward Sword
Kirby Wii
Kirby : Mass Attack.
So yeah, that's a lot, especially on 3DS. As much as I hoped for it, I never expected there to be a Luigi's Mansion 2, so that was a surprise. Also Kirby Wii looks amazing.
Mario Party 9 Trailer

I hope it's better than that shitty MP8. Here's what I want to see in the game:

1. ONLINE PLAY - Seriously, it really needs it. It would be fun as hell.

2. Skip computer turns. For fuck sake I don't want to watch 3 computer players take their turns.

3. Fewer luck based mini-games. This is what I hated in MP8, too many of the games were based on luck.

4. Better single player mode. The one in MP8 was boring as hell.
I had a thought: the Wii U controllers are touch screen devices, so they're very likely going to be extremely expensive.

:sigh:

What about the Cave Story 3DS D:

The graphics definitely got a face-lift.

There's rumor going around that you can only get one Wii U controller, which is the one the system comes with. If you break your controller, you just have to send it to Nintendo so they can fix it. And to have multiplayer, once person would use a Wii U controller and the other people would have to use Wii Remotes.
