It's sad to see this frozen for a week, but then again, we haven't been updated in weeks, so it doesn't matter.
I really like how this is turning out, and if I may suggest a galaxy, I say put in Beat Box Galaxy, since I believe it will be very possible and easy to do.
-------------------- Just back here to browse a bit.
Sorry if you don't like these requests, but you gotta put in Swaphoppers (Those gravity-prone things in Rightside Down), inverted Podoboos if you're going to use lava (I think they might be in SMG2, lemme check), gravity switches to reverse gravity, and Thwomps facing upside-down in Rightside Down Galaxy.
EDIT: Yes, they're in the game, in one level, if you count being upside-down and the Podoboo jumping that way,
EDIT 2: You don't need to replace coins, you can make the Star Bits custom sprites or tiles.
Hey Koops. This hack looks great and while I haven't seen any videos yet, you seem to have captured the magic of Mario Galaxy 2. That is no easy task. The Mario Galaxy series, as you know, is probably some of the most impressive Mario games ever made.
One thing I wanted to suggest is consider asking Lexator to use his graphics for Star Bits. His Winter Level Contest entry (which came in 6th place) had phenomenal graphics including the Star Bits. http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&pid=661953
First screen, I know SMG2 has a daytime sorta feel in the intro. Unlike SMG1 where its night. I think making the pallettes more nightime like would look better, just and idea.
As for the GFX Im curious to see these powerups and stars in gameplay.
Nice work so far!
Question: Is it gonna be JUST a SMG2 remak or will you have elements from the first one as well
(ex. King Kalente (don't remember how it's spelt))
-------------------- So remember kids! If you ever get caught having tosave a princess from a foreign land after getting dragged down a drain pipe, jumping while spinning in a circle can help you greatly by allowing you to jump on spinning saw blades, ghosts, and allow you to control your jump better!
