Description:
The long awaited sequel to Super Mario Brothers 2011 and Super Mario Brothers 2010! Super Mario Bros 2012 is a Super Mario World like fangame based off of SMW elements and SMW hacks. The game is in early development, uses spc files for music, and we can use some supporters on our forums. Link below.

The Plot:
Thousands of years ago, the elders of the Mayan race prophized a series of events that will lead to the untimate end of the earth and the Mushroom World. Fast forword to today, it is December 7, 2012, the earth is still peaceful, and The Bros. and their friends were celebrating the peace since any threat to the MK never sufficed for a while largely due to the mistakes villains made that were thwarted by the Bros., unknown to them that they were fulfilling the prophecy the Mayan civilization predicted. In a remote corner of the Mushroom World, tired of the numerous defeats at the hands of the Mario Bros., Bowser formed an alliance with all of the major villains and proposed to invade all of Mushroom World. They did ten days later, and the human explorers native to the Mushroom World lost in the real world for two years suddenly found themselves back in Mario's world with alarming news. The explorers found the bros. and told them about the prophicey. Alarmed by the news, Mario and Luigi's set out to prevent that part of the prophecy from ever happening, the ultimate destruction of the Mushroom World and interstellar dominance at the hands of Bowser and the villains!

Yeah, I agree. What's the sense of waiting a year when a game can be made in a month. I don't really think you'll make a game about a year.

They can also take several years to make. Just ask the authors of Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Duke Nukem Forever, or any other commercial game.

A good game takes time. And you do have a point about waiting a year, but for this game, we are constructing the engine called the "SMW2012 Engine". For this game, I want it to be just as good as the previous in my SMB2010 series.

Previous games I mean:
Super Mario Bros 2010 (Took about 3-5 months to make)
Super Mario Bros 2011 - Attack of the Bloopers (Still in progress ever since Summer 2010)
and Super Mario Bros 2012 - Doomsday (In its early development)

I agree with you, a game CAN be made in a month, but who wants to sit through the same boring old Hello Clone (if you don't know what a Hello Clone is, its a game made with Hello Engine and barely modified).

Yeah, I know some games take very long to make because I waited for one which took a year or more but I think it will be made in a year and it will look good than a game made in a month with crappy quality.

LOL! xD That actually was added in after the recording. I used Sony Vegas to make it look like the original fanfare but failed.
Yea, I don't think the world is going to end on 12/21/12 either. I know it's only a myth but it is a really good concept I think for a Mario fangame.

So, will there be any chace the Mayan god of the underworlds be a part in the story?
Perfection is something that requires something that incompletes it. Perhaps it also breaks itself.

Of course! These are just some of the first level screenshots. The story gradually picks up and by the time of the later worlds, there will be more destruction and mroe apocalyptical levels.

I absolutely love how stupidly happy Mario and Luigi look whilst the Mushroom Kingdom is burning to the ground XD. Its a nice concept, but from what I can tell the levels are REALLY bland.

I know. It's stupid. xD But at the same time I love it because it's epic. I need to make more levels. I'll start the apocalypse levels ASAP.
