How come there's hardly any moderation of graphics files going on recently?

Maybe it's because I'm ripping and submitting them at a decent pace, but... 22 files waiting moderation? I swear some of them have been there weeks if not months, what's going on?

Then again, that section needs an overhaul. Forget the custom music, I don't think there's hardly any consistency in the rules for submissions nor any real quality control. Some times I get submissions rejected for one reason, next time it's for another. Sometimes I've seen graphics submitted with similar issues get different responses from the staff, and I know of one case where the actual .bin file with the graphics in wasn't even in the zip file, and it still got accepted.

Really, someone needs to moderate it a bit quicker, and they also need some proper rules laid down to ensure quality, since at the moment it's a bit of a lottery in regards to whether any one submission will pass the arbitary 'rules' set by the different staff.

As for Mario's Nightmare Quest? Well, it's currently on Fusion Gameworks, ROM Hacking.net or the GCN at the moment.
Yeah, I definitely agree, sometimes graphics sit in moderation for months at a time, other times poor graphics, or graphics that are missing stuff are accepted... I would be willing to help ripping new versions of old graphics. Like stuff that still overwrites status bar but wasn't resubmitted and stuff that doesn't use LM1.7x's BG2+3(Which I have been doing recently). But if graphics moderation needs help I am online alot and would be willing to help out with it.

This happens a lot, actually. I notice that it tends to fluctuate between a ton of things waiting to be moderated and nothing or very few things waiting to be moderated. I don't know why it usually ends up that way, but they do get moderated in the end. People have brought up the issue many times in the past.

Because since graphics are so quick to moderate, the graphics mods tend to wait for the number of graphics waiting to build up a bit and then moderate a whole bunch of them at once. And then there's also the fact that two of the three people that moderate graphics have gone rather inactive lately.

That makes some sense, but some of these graphics were moderated already... a massive total of ONE of them. And if the graphics mods are inactive, wouldn't it be best to find some new graphics mods? If a forum's staff go inactive for any amount of time, they should probably not be staff any more.

Oh, and does this mean if I submit graphics at a lightning fast pace, eventually someone will get fed up enough to moderate them?

I don't think you should submit graphics soully to get the section moderated. You just need to accept that the staff who moderate the sections are human beings and as such have other things to do in life. Nobodies life revolves around this website so you'll just have to sit tight and wait till something is done about it.

Just tossing my two cents in here as a late note (and for any future people who bring this up).

As YCZ mentioned, people here wait until the graphics build up to knock them all down at once. Keep in mind that there are in fact three GFX moderators, and as of late, two of them have been pretty busy with SMWCP2, among other things. Couple that with the fact that it's early August and this is when most people take their summer vacations .. well, this is simply to be expected.

Moderation will pick back up by the end of this month, as I've seen in previous years. Don't worry too much about it.
