possible title. not sure yet. but there's a big focus on the giant friggin castle in this, so i think it works.

Due to the castle's palette and the fact that it's in the clouds, it doesn't really look very hellish to me. (Though I guess I could see the name working...)

Lol, sorry. Didn't know anything about your hack so...yeah...

It certainly looks more evil, but still not hellish (though its probably the OW more than the castle itself, I'd normally expect more fire and stuff, but at this point I'm really just nitpicking...).

Very nice, is it custom? If I were you, put some lava around the castle and create some cliffs with lava streaming down.

Then why isn't that castle in the title screen? It is very heavily implied with that picture that the castle in the clouds is Hell's Castle.
Yeah, I'd recommend you either change the title of the hack or change the intro level. Or keep it the way it is and trick the player? Eh.

The giant enemies in your first screen are not in-style with everything else you've shown.

@8-bit: What MDP said. It might be a good idea if you removed any kind of shading on those giant sprites, so they'd look more 8-bitish.

@Zild: very nice work with palettes. :O Also, the castle in the clouds rocked, but I have to agree with TRS and BMM.
Not bad 8-bit, but I agree with MDP said, You can try ripping from SMB3 of NES some GFX (I mean, Sprites GFX) and your project will be great ;)

There's also two letters from other characters than Daisy but they only use a different palette, level background color and emblem.

I took the one from NSMBU. I'm still trying to make the snow on top blend in less with the dirt tiles.

Yeah, I just redrew things like the Bullet Bill Canon and also recreated some NSMB blocks and made giant versions of them.

Yoshiegg Powerup Expansion
It's a patch about getting powerups other than a mushroom from Yoshieggs...
It's currently fully functional, but I'm still taking suggestions and want to fix any possible bugs...


It's been quite a bit since I made a graphical thing. Have some more NSMB-inspired grassland:



I still have a bit of tinkering to do before I submit it (the dark part of the dirt isn't dark enough), but it's in good enough condition to show off, I hope.

I don't have too many problems with these graphics. It's a neat set and it does capture the style of NSMB. However, it would be best to get rid of the pixel hugging on your slope outlines. Refer to the reference image:



Hugging doesn't look great and definitely makes things more jagged than they should be. It's not very noticeable on a small scale but when someone is playing in an emulator, with usually 2x or 3x scale, it is very apparent.
@Majora Sorry I didn't comment on your screens! They look great. Nice work on those! Must have taken a lot of time for the entire set.

@Snowshoe Wow I didn't know such a small graphic change could make a big difference. The shape seems much smoother now. Good work, I'll have to try that technique sometime. #w{=)}
Well, I've been drawing some simple stuff, so I decided to show it here:



I would like some suggestions if possible. I don't know if it is just me, but I think the background could be less empty, but I'm not sure what I could draw there.
Going crazy with ideas again.

majora211: I like those graphics. I'm curious to see what the rest of the tileset in that bonus room is like. The snow tileset seems like it could use a few more colors in the land pattern, though. Also, those first two screenshots would look even better with Layer 3 backgrounds.

TRS: The same applies here. The land might be better with a few more colors (and I think the bottom edges should be darker), but overall, it looks pretty good.

RaindropDry: ...and here. The land is good, but maybe a bit more detail could be nice. As for the background, I'd try adding some sort of pattern to it (leaves, dirt, whatever) instead of just having everything a solid color.
