Speedrunning a level from JDCGames collab because I felt like it.

'Midnight Madness' by camoslash

I think I did OK for a beginner, but I could have been quicker at the beginning.
That's cool JDC, mind if I ask where and if that timer thing with best times is up for download anywhere? It looks so cool!

See here

The patch was created by Fakescraper. :)
I have finished a forest level and second rooms in two castles:

Hey, a castle level!

Mario's Hat: Looks great, the castle block pattern works really well instead of the dirt pattern. The background does look a bit odd with the transparent/blue pixels on the corners though. I really love how you used the handrail tiles on the ghost house wooden platforms, that's really clever.

Still haven't fixed the status bar, or gotten Cluster Sprite Tool to work. I'm unsure of the status bar palette too, so I'm messing around with it to see what looks best.

Really just a castle that you enter through a conveniently open window (how original). I'm aware of the "cutoff" (because it isn't really cutoff) with the ghost house wooden platforms, and will probably fix it.
I'm planning to edit most of SMW's graphics slightly (for some graphics it will probably be major though) so I'm going to concentrate on that for a little bit before I design more.

edit: Doh, I just noticed that I got the castle door wrong. Fixed it in the first image because I'm too lazy to retake the second. :P
I think I should add little piles of snow as decoration in the first few levels, maybe I could use the cloud tileset and edit it...

Oh yeah, the Jukeboxes by Kil are available here. You need to patch the patch (that sounds weird) and insert the two blocks.

@Giant_Shyguy, looks fine but I think you could darken the Bowser statue a bit. It would be also nice if it would use more colours (for better shading).

I fixed the Bowser statue. It looks more like a golden nacho color now.

Fix it.

Well, I find the rings on cantelopes/melons and bananas...exceptional(?) but no matter what I do, I can't seem to fix them.

No, it doesn't.

Also, see this. You should make the part circled in red have a darker shade, it would improve the perspective #w{=D}.

I darkened it, and I added a side view to the top of the entrance.

I think this looks very confusing. You should try what Magiluigi have said (Make the side more darker) or change the tileset of the monument.

Also, change the Bowser's Statue palette. It isn't that good.

I shaded it, gave Bowser a stand, and recolored Bowser. Currently, I'm giving him shady eyes.

The Status Bar for something I have been working on recently.

Next screenshot of this project: 3 months from now.
Why don't you call rename "ITEM" to "THE ITEM" for consistency? Actually, to be honest adding the "THE" is extremely pointless. It just makes your status bar look more uglier in my opinion.
Its kinda a jokey hack. The "the"s are just there to fill up space really, since I got rid of everything but the lives, coins and spare item.

Also I wanted to add the "The" to the item but it cut off at the bottom, figuring it out.
If it's going to be a joke hack, it's okay but if not, I'd delete "the" on the status bar. It looks weird.
Take it a step further: make it "Los Lives," "An Item," and "These Coins."
I like that idea Mineyl, thanks, I'll try that out.

Also, Wormer, its not a joke hack, just a very silly one.

Current World 3 Map. I was planning on using the colorful platforms seen in NSMBW. The graphics you see on the map are based on Nep-Enut's OW (which he based off of NSMBW), which wasn't hard to replicate. I can replicate simple GFX because.

The pipe you see on the left is a cannon that allows Mario to be shot up to otherwise inaccessible areas. The icon on the right is to indicate the player of a hazard that will otherwise kill Mario instantly.

New Enemy: Spiny Cheep-Cheep. They behave like normal Cheep-Cheeps, but cannot be stomped.

New Enemy: An aggressive variant of the Porcu-Puffer. Like the Puffer enemies from the NSMB games, but uh... faster. Credit to Vic Rattlehead for the sprite.

New Element: Explosives will now destroy certain blocks.

New Enemy: Kab-omb from NSMB. Well, sort of; these are actually SM64 Bob-ombs, but I wanted to make them be more noticable, so I gave them these graphics. They wonder around aimlessly and will pursuit Mario when he gets near. They can be picked up from behind and thrown, where they'll explode on contact.

Current World 2 Map.

SMWCP2 World 8 Level (Currently 8-5, excluding the Ghost House): Myrkka Mainline. The underground of a massive factory complex where toxic water is dumped. The green water will activate a meter where Mario must collect Blue Mushrooms or get air unless he wants to perish to the water's poisonous effects.

Also making an appearance is a small torpedo that Mario can grab onto for easier maneuvering underwater. (He'll always remain in position when holding on.)

Purple water will drain the meter MUCH quicker.

Conveyor belts are commonplace in the level, which provide for some opportunities for enemies to do some harm.

Naturally, Fire Mario would make this level (much) easier.

Timing, timing, timing.

Final stretch.

More screens of the SMWCP2 level, Shivering Cinders. Anyone familiar with a certain World 5 level from the first Production will soon notice the concept reused in this level to a much larger effect.

Pressed Switches aren't always friendly.

Trying to barrel your way through this level WILL get you killed.

I'm running out of things to say.

Is it over yet?

It is for now!

#w{O.O} , this makes what I'm about to post pale. Thank you MrDeePay. But, without sarcasism, I honestly think that the effort you put into your work is really well done, especially with the non-SMWCP2 related stuff. Of all the stuff you've posted, the material from your hack is what I'm focusing on. That second set of screen shots looks like some sort of SM64 inspired pyramid level, right? The lake screen shots remind me of Super Metroid for some strange reason. The city like screen shots do throw me off a little, but nothing short of good. By the way, by "throw me off", I mean that with all the naturality I've seen from your screens, I was surprised to see the city screen shots.

Otherwise, I got a couple of screens to show from Hunter and Scorpion's Bet 2: The Twilight Gem. This is the Titanium Fortress.

Again, Moose's skills come out on top, for his porting skills provide the perfect music for such a level as Titanium Fortress. I'm really excited to be able to get to work on this when I get home from school; but first, I'd like to hear what the fellow community has to say. Custom graphics as always and such, though the Sky Background was inspired by one I saw on SMWCP2. Thank you whomever made the background that inspired this one... glad it's still so different though.
Wow.. I have to say, those graphics are absolutely stunning. I'm not sure why but they really caught my eye in the right way.

Some pretty good stuff you got there but I feel the city BG is a little too bright and distracting maybe try darkening it up some.

Here’s an example of what I mean:

0_0 Wow, MrDeePay! Those screens are so eye appealing that my eyes feel warm and fuzzy! :p

Once upon a time, I talked to THY and decided to make something bigger out of my Door #9 contest entry. And so I did.

Also, I made a 3 minute timelapse-like video that shows me actually doing stuff, which can be found HERE. I also have a picture of the level in full-size HERE.

Tell me what you think. (:

Nope, NSMB's sewers/pipeline. (Link) I haven't gotten around to updating/redoing my pyramid levels yet. That's for much later.
