I think that it is not good idea to add custom elements in the game's beta you want to revive. Anyway, it looks very cool.



Here is my first experement in porting GFX from my Sega Genesis works to SMW hack. This is Magikoopa repainted in cute demon girl.
Also, new graveyard-themed stage, yay!

I love seeing what you are doing with the beta elements that Nintendo announced a while back. Mixing in the content from your other hack is a cool addition and I look forward to playing it.

Are you going to use beta yoshi in this one?

Thank you. I thought some people might feel that way about the custom elements. I want something to incentivize players to get all of the Beta Coins. More of the same isn't all that exciting, however, something new and interesting adds value to finding them all. It's optional and I will make it clear that the non-beta content is just that; extra unrelated content.

A secret world will also be unlocked after collecting all Big Beta Coins in each level. The secret world will use graphics and levels from my old 3+World project! That's pretty sweet. I replayed SMWB lately and yeah, quite honestly it didn't really hold up in the level design category. The idea is great though so it's nice to see you taking another shot at it.
It's neat to see the beta restoration hack get a proper touch-up. Looking forward to seeing more.

I especially like that you're using the beta palettes and hat design for big Mario.
Simple but effective! Not really anything to complain about. I like the way the grass looks on the cave foreground.

Aesthetically this level is super impressive. I´ve already told you how much i adore the slow scrolling effect in your level.

The underwater-section also looks pretty neat. I especially like the "blurred" BG and the sunbeams.

I can´t really judge you level-design, but from the screenshots it looks at least alright to me. Very good work WYE #smw{:TUP:}








The underwater graphics are extraordinary. I get a storybook vibe and I really like it.

Chapter Two: Land of No Shame
Everything I want to praise about those screenshots have already been said - here or elsewhere. I'd like to ask a few things instead.

The graphics on the star coin looks a little flat when viewed at an angle (like with the first picture), but they look pleasantly textured in the straight-on sprite.
You should probably add a few more darker colors where the inside rim of the coin and the star would be sticking out to give them some depth.

How exactly do the seagulls move around and act? Every screen I've seen with them has them in that exact pose. Do they slide around as a static image?

Good call; I should probably have posted something animated after all. They dive down and fly back up with the latter using four animation frames, like so:

Looks like a solid water level. I like the fact the second part of the level is not entirely underwater since the first part looks long enough underwater, so that changes the playing experience positively. What are those sprites in the room with the key & keyhole? I also like the sandy areas in the foreground. Good graphics and level design!
I play different games on Twitch, I did speedruns of Pokemon Red and Gold, Mario Party 4, but I also do SMW stuff.
