Alright, time to get back to hacking. Here's the first level I made after I returned, Baleful Beach.

To me, Lynnes, you make some of the most polished and eye pleasing screenshots I have ever seen! Especially with those vanilla GFX!

Plus, the rain looks sexy too, did you code that?

Lynnes: Sweet monkey bananas, that is like sugar to my eyes. It looks so damn amazing. Were those small chains in SMW? Can't seem to recall seeing them.
GeorgeVsSonic: Looks nice. Although I'm not too sure I like the pallet on those bugs. Still, the level has a nice atmosphere and for me that's all that matters.

Meh, ported to new ROM, tested the hack, now it's time to remake the overworld!



It's my current progress my new main map. (It's only a portion of the main map, I have cut the empty water areas) Some notes:

-Still have to add decorations,
-I will try to have more colors,
-It's of course unfinished and the cutoff part is the part I didn't start making yet.

Teo17: No words can describe how awesome that overworld looks even now. Where do you even get the inspiration for these kinds of overworlds? I know its still in progress, but one small thing i noticed is in the top middle, next to the thin, high waterfall, is one tiny ledge cutoff. Just a tiny bit, hardly would be noticed in the finished product?

Luigi370: Thank you. The statues aren't on another layer, but, the clouds in front and behind indeed are; scrolling at different rates using parallax.
miguel2145: Heh, thanks for the compliments.
metalgearhunter: Thanks a lot! I put quite a bit of polish into every screen of my levels, so it takes a massive amount of time to complete anything. Annoying, yes, but the levels always come out nicely. And I didn't strictly code the sprite, seeing how ladida gave me the base, but I did alter it a good amount.
K.K.Koopa: Yes, the small chains are in fact in the original SMW. I forget where, But I believe it's in the sprite graphic file with the bob-omb.
Teo17:Thanks, atmosphere is something very important to me when designing levels, almost all of the levels in the first world feel different and entirely new so far. And like I said, no, I didn't code it.

Woah Teo! You're still the best overworld hacker on the whole central! This just proves it. You can see you're really spending a lot of time in those overworlds, they are just amazingly stunning. Not a single perspective error to find and the palette is stunning! Wow man, I'm just speechless. #w{=D}

Damn Teo! That overworld is amazing, I gotta learn to make that kinda shit.
I also like Teo's overoworld: But if you play it ingame, you may see a major cutoff at the middle top of the overworld: believe me, in game it's notable enough. Tile 0x0 should solve that problem. what?

Dinomar: Thank you very much, I'm glad you like this overworld. As for the cutoff, I believe K.K.Koopa also said about it, and you guys are actually right. This part is completed, this cutoff is my own mistake. I guess I just didn't see it. =P It's nice you said about it. =)

Always been a fan of your overworlds Teo and that one is no exception... okay actually I wanna nitpick that there's way too many unnecessary pieces of land all over the map. I mean I could understand if the area got destroyed by say volcanic actions or something but otherwise the bunches of land seem unnecessary IMO. Idk and maybe if I saw an in game screenshot I might reconsider otherwise since I like to see well made overworlds in game : P

Nevermind that. And also now I feel like competing against you for the overworlds o_0

I also try to have longer paths this time, so more space will be used. Now I'm somehow worried about having no space on the OW. xD Also,

Heh, this is even pretty visible by the style you wrote this response. :P By the way, I made the left part of the map. I feel it's wrong somehow. (oh well, I always think this way when making OWs BTW, but...) Is it alright?

@Teo: Damn man, your OW's are always friggin' amazing! The only thing I think you should do is change the cliff side's palette to be a tad darker, not by much though. Still man, this is a pretty awesome OW!
