I tried to redit octaves addmusic said line 12 through 50 were to high I tried setting at o4- o5 or o3 to low

addmusic said lines 100 through 111 were to high...

s.n.n do you know of a way to set the octaves so they won't be so high or to low for addmusic to accept the text file ?

Did you look at my mml that should explain what kind of problems I'm having ?

The only way to set the octaves is to do so manually. Try this:

Ctrl F and find "o6" Anywhere you find one, replace it with o5. After that, ctrl+f "o1" and replace it with o2. This should balance the octaves so that you don't get any errors - but if you still do, post the MML again and I'll look into it myself.
Is what you guys are saying that, if you insert new music into the game, then if you get a star or hit a p-switch in a level, that music being played will not stop until the level is cleared?

Yes.
That stinks. Is it only when you add extra level music to the open banks, or does it happen when you replace songs from the original "playlist" as well?

You can't replace existing music. -_- I just use the POW blocks from Blocktool, because they don't activate the music anyway. And star is overrated. :P

It didn't find neither o6 or o1 I have put the link for the mml so that you can have a look at it.

I made some custom MML's over the past 2 days for levels I had 3 insert just fine, however though they will not play at all, also there is no sound when playing through a level when I exit that level with the custom music the screen turns black and crashes.

Raise the tempo, and fix channel 3. Your current tempo is set at 20 - I think 25 or 30 would sound better. As for channel 3 - either change the instrument or lower the volume so that you don't hear it over the main melody. Finally, add an infinite rest loop at the end of EACH channel. Something like this:

If that doesn't work, then try:

[r1^1]100
[r1^1]100
[r1^1]100

You need to figure it out yourself.
Okay, I tried a different song this time, and I mostly got it. It was easy since it only had one channel. There are a few wrong notes though, can someone tell me where they are and how I should go about fixing them?

Your octaves are swapped. It's just a matter of changing the >'s to <'s and vice versa.

And GAH, you used a double-up octave (one at the start, one at the end) After a few loops, the song will crash. At the end of the channel, instead of the > before the >]100, make it a <.

I don't know how to "learn it myself" if I have no clue what the process even is 0_0

Use spigmike's tutorial. He did an excellent job writing it and it covers a lot of the basics. It should be in the Documents section.

Any level that uses custom music will have the pow/star keep playing. If you have level music in your hack, but your using one of the original songs for a level, you can use a pow/star in it.
