If I say that Water World was my first port ever, no one would believe. But it actually is.

Here's Donkey Kong Country 3 - Cavern Caprice. I've done it in a day and ~4 hours.

Not bad, but I think you should use #3 and #5 rather than #4 and #6, because these two channels get cut-off by sound effects.

Because almost everybody's first ports don't sound good at all, and Water World is one of my best ports. This exception to the case happened because I was always playing with custom compositions for about a year or two.
My first real SMW song ever is, in fact, the Underwater theme I've composed for my cancelled hack, Super Mario's Legend, which was improved several times.

I'm still amazed at how well DKC3 songs transition into SMW. @0 and @3 really work wonders for matching the flute and marimba that DKC3 had, I guess.

I'll be honest: I did not like this one nearly as much as your other DKC3 ports. The notes are bang on, but the instruments--@3 especially--just don't have the same fullness that DKC3's does. It isn't a bad port by any means, but I do feel it leaves a little bit to be desired.

Oh, and Botcrazy killed my ears. Again.

Whyy? I kept @0 on o4 as to keep the eerie feel by staying within one octave of the strings. While I was at it, I added the p command (that usually makes the sound a little more powerful, but if in the right position, can lower the power of the note).

@Botcrazy: I was accidentally a page behind in this forum--I was re-commenting on your first port! Anyway, the Luigi's Mansion one is good, but I'm beginning to think that the mansion theme just won't work in SMW. The song had a nice, creepy feeling to it, but it was a little empty.

I don't know...Supertails' version had the same problem, and yours is actually quite a bit better than his.
