Yes, W2 is Sea/Beach/Islands. Make sure to make it tropical like. Oh, if you played "An SMWC Production", and gotton up to W7 or higher, make something like that on the W7 map.

Lui37: Maybe you could add another instrument? (keep in mind though; my knowledge in regards to custom music right now is about as expansive as my knowledge for Xkas...or whatever it's called...) Some percussion would probably give the whole piece a lot more groove (not that it lacks it) and I think a semi-repetitive drum line would compliment the 30 seconds of totally non-repetitive piano and bass. Also, working with more instruments might allow for a better and/or longer loop as a whole since you would be working with more options.

Actually I'm planning to add some marimbas, and the percussion line will be surely added too, as I said before.
Also I've just used the piano as a filler (does that make sense?) and the SMW version will have more instruments.
Within a few hours I should be done.

Before going to bed, I'll leave a WIP version. I'm porting slowly, because I'm writing the notes directly from the midi to the txt without TinyMM, just for accuracy sake and stuff.

FINAL VERSION

It's a bit longer and has three different percussion patterns.
To make up for my lack of progress, I composed a map song for you. Hope you like it.

I can show a little, but not much, unfortunately.
It's nowhere near finished. Making a good puzzle is surprisingly tough.
E: Before I forget, are we allowed to use remixes of existing songs?

Nice compostion, MSL. But, that seems to fit better in W2, but it was for W1? If so, then make it more swampy like. Too much grass like, not enough swamp like.

keep in mind though, the sprites have not been placed with a ton of care and there may be some minor slow down. Also, for music, is this hack getting all it's music tailored for it? or can we use custom music for the music section (the 'CUSTOM' ones).

@lui37: sweet song, I sound like it would definitely go well with level 1 (or any happy level for that matter).

Wow, Smiley, that looks really great! I notice just 1 error, is that on the orignal SMW trees, the bottom-right corner of the tree has priority off. Might want to fix that.

Other than that, the level fits pretty well with this hack, and i love the level design. Nicely done.

Could you maybe post a screen shot (or screenshots) depicting the trees in question? It's just that I went through fixing a bunch of priority stuff and I'd like to know what I missed specifically.
Also, everything you need should be on the file. just copy the map16 page (I think you can do that). and the pallet can be easily carried over.

Breifing: This is an Abstract/Dream level. Do anything you like to do with this level (Well, ALMOST anything), but try to keep it Abstact/Dream like. Maybe some ideas like i don't know...Space like level? Arctic area? Rainbow stuff? The possiblies are endless. Remember, keep it challenging but fair.

Not that this does NOT mean you can dump a kaizo level here and call it a day.

What stuff are you referring to? All of the resources I used to make my level should be on the ips. If it weren't for the exgfx (that is already in the base ROM) my level so far has been vanilla.

I would very much like to continue with my level, however in terms of submitting it (this being my first collab hack) I'm kinda getting confused. What stuff are you looking for from me? I don't mean to sound like as much of a nag as i probably do, but what is it that I need send you to get this level or any of its successors up on the hack? Or did you just want me to confirm that I want the level? In that case, I'm going to go hit my head against the keyboard out of sheer humility...

I just wanted your level, and the stuff you claimed so i can insert it in the baseROM. Even though you're not done yet, i can still insert it. If you wish to give me the WIP level, here is what you must PM me. Give me a .Zip file with the following stuff in it:

The .mwl file for the levels and sublevels
The .map16 page FG and BG (NOT a .bin file saying "map16page")
Custom sprites (The .cfg and the .asm file. + the .bin file if you used a dynamic sprite) (If used in your level)
Custom block stuff (If used)
Custom music .txt file and .spc file (For which music you want in it, and if i like it, i will insert it.)
ExGFX files (For the ExGFX you claimed)
