It's speed is perfect. Though, maybe it's movement should be more "jellyfish-like", like move up, stop while it slowly decreases down, then move up again.

Though, I don't think it will contribute to the battle in any way - just makes it look more jelly fish rather than a Rip van Fish experimented on by the government.

Which makes me think why no one has ever made a Rip van Fish boss.
Great job cstutor89.

Other than the thundery effects it needs for its attacks and poses, I'd pretty much say this is done.
Congratulations CS, on turning the Jelectro into something worthwhile.

And yeah, it doesn't surprise me that you had to start from scratch. Like I said, the old one was a disgusting mess.
Thanks for the feedback.

Anyways here's a link to version 0.3, should fix most of the extraneous bugs I found through hit detection: Version 0.3

Just a few more slight changes to Jelectro since V0.2:
- Thunderbolt graphics use Sumo's Lighting that he drops.
- Hit Detection is more accurate (I think, requires only 8 pixels of his body to hit the spikes).
- Spike colors are updated.
- Rip Van Fish are now able to come out as two fish.
- Changed the POW blocks to ON/OFF blocks.
I haven't played through the boss, only to a sneak peek. The Spike Balls stick out now...but not in a good way. How does a bright yellow palette sound like?
Any of these look any better?:

Wow...I'm not going to lie here - that's a horrible palette to work with O.o

I can't make a decent look with these three palettes.

NINJAEDIT: Those are WAY better! I don't which too choose, but I personally like the yellow one, since the blue one feels like it was pulled out of an ice level, not saying it's not a good looking palette.
Okay, yeah it's really hard to find a color to work with this level but it has to be found. I've also changed the number of Rin Van Fish from 2 to 1 via SNN.
I agree with GSG about the yellow over the blue, simply due to the fact that the spikes should be very blatant and obvious - blue kind of blends in.

I have no complaints about the boss other than what I said on IRC which you're addressing, so I'm looking forward to trying what will hopefully be the final version.
Okay, hopefully last or second to last update on Jelectro. I kind of like the graphics now because they representative of the Jelectros in the room. Here's a few more changes made for Version 0.4:

- Number of Rip Van Fish are reduced from 2 to 1.
- FG is changed a little bit with GN's changes.
- Palettes of the Spikes have changed.

Just tested it and everything looks good to go. At least to me it does.

I no longer have interest in SMW Hacking as I did when I first started several years ago.

The Jelectro graphics will be redrawn, like everything else. And it will be most likely based on Ludus' graphics.

Also, can we start naming the guy now?

Jimmy Jelectro perhaps? I like the way it sounds :3

Extras

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

That name sounds stupid, if you ask me.

As far as the newer arena goes, fill in the "bottom" row (row 20) with sand. Currently you can see the BG from the "bottom" row in Snes9x and perhaps BSNES. The boss seems to clear out well for me otherwise.

Seems good to me as well with this version. Another box finally checked off on our still-lengthy boss list.

Looks good. Send the files off to SNN. ;)
Layout by LDA during C3.
Okay, so this boss has changed quite a bit since the old BaseROM. I'll list what's new and changed:

-It now has an official name: King Jelectro.
-The boss fight will now give you a Torpedo so it's easier to dodge his attacks.
-He will flash depending on what attack he will do. He'll flash red when charging, and yellow when charing electricity.
-Additionally, his speed is lowered a bit so his charge attack is not incredibly hard to avoid.
-The new design below was drawn by Dr. Tapeworm. I drew the crown.

The boss fight is same as it was before outside of that, meaning this boss is complete, and needs no further revisions.
