Blocktool doesn't want to open my rom anymore.

Well, i finally learned how to make ON/OFF ExAnimations, but now BTSD tries to pull my leg....
Whenever i try to open my rom i get a message which says :"This isn't a SMW Rom that has been saved in Lunar Magic."
I never had such a problem, it always worked fine, but now it simply doesn't work anymore.
What am i doing wrong?

The Rom is already expanded. I already inserted 7 blocks in it, that's why i wonder why this problem occures.

7 blocks? That's why the problem occurs. When you insert custom blocks, they go somewhere in the ROM. You just ran out of Free Space. Try using Lunar Expand and everything will be OK.
In LM you can expand it to 4 MB by going to File > Expand ROM > Expand ROM to 4 MB.

just wondering but how does 7 blocks force you to run out of freespace?
i doubt those take up anymore then a 20 bytes each, then again, i dont know much about byte sizes

Well, 7 blocks are too many. 2 or 3 will not cause a problem, but 7? Oh, and if they're some kind of exented, then there's no doubt on that you ran out of Free Space. Specially if you've applied XKas patches.
I inserted many Patches, but i checked my Rom with Space Logger and i have a lot freespace left.
I expanded my rom to 4mb but this doesn't work either.
I tried to open an older copy of my rom with btsd and it worked, the copy was made a week ago. I did not insert any blocks or patches since that, the only thing i did was to edit my status bar with the status bar editor tool by smallhacker. And i changed my main overworld and build a new level, but i don't think this influenced the behavior of btsd.

I'm pretty desperate right now...

Long ago your problem was my problem. And I understand the cause of this problem: Block tool doesn't open your rom because in your rom these blocks are no more... Let's explain me...
In my folder I have my rom and a copy of my rom. In my rom I inserited a block, but then for some reasons I deleted it(the rom). Then I double my copy, so I have again one rom that is the copy of the copy, and the original copy. If I take the copy of the copy and open it with blocktool it give me an error. THAT'S THE PROBLEM!
How I solved it? Well, in the blocktool folder there is my rom and another file with the same name of the rom. Just delete this one and reinserit all the block you used before.
If you didn't understand a s**t, let me know.
Did you get the same error message? ("This isn't a SMW ROM that has been saved in lunar magic")

And which file with the same name do you mean? The dbk file?

Try pressing Ctrl-Shift-S at the same time on the level editor and see if there's some conflicting RATs or Space. Maybe that's the problem...

...you would have to port to another rom, though.
Sadly I have no knowledge about porting to another rom. Is there a Tutorial or something available?

Yes, I mean the dbk file...and no, it didn't appear that message to me.
To tell you the truth I don't remember the error message.
Well I guess your problem was different to mine.
If there is no way to solve this problem could anyone tell me pls how to port my hack to another rom?

You can export modified levels from the "bad rom" and then import them on a clean smw rom. Take the GFX and ExGFX folders if you did some changes in the graphics, simply import the graphics using the yellow and the green mushroom button in LM. For the ow I'm sorry but I don't know how to export it from the bad rom...

Hope I helped you....#w{=D}
I ported my Levels to an older copy of my rom, which worked fine with BTSD before I inserted the Levels. But after i have inserted the two Levels BTSD didn't want to open this rom either.

I'm going crazy, what the hell is wrong with this roms? I can't believe that BTSD doesn't want to open a rom anymore just because two levels are inserted.....

If that's the case, try porting just those two levels, one at a time and seeing which is causing the problem, and try uploading the level or a screenshot so we can see what could be causing it.

I repeated everything step by step and checked wheter BTSD opens my rom or not after everything i did.
I inserted both level, no problem occurd. Then I inserted the ExGFX, no problem occurd.

But then (!) i inserted the Map16 Page of this level:

And after inserting the Map16 Page the Problem with BTSD occurd. I guess that the problem occurs because i don't use the newest version of Lunar Magic (?) , but this is just my assumption.

I inserted it in Page 13.

Edit: Problem solved! The problem was that I've used the older LM Version to insert this Map16 Page. I downloaded the new Version and reinserted the Map16 Page. I will have to remap some things but it finally works !

Thanks a Lot to all of you!
