Ok, so I downloaded SWR's SMB1 Graphics Set and noticed it came with .bin files. How do you insert them with lunar magic?
.bin files can be either Graphics or Map16 data.

To insert the graphics in this case, you'll need to extract the GFX in Lunar Magic (, make sure Options --> use joined GFX files is unchecked), put the GFX[number].bin files in the newly-created "Graphics" folder and reinsert them (). Graphics found in the "Graphics" section of SMWC are usually ExGFX, though, and if you want to insert those you'll need to do something slightly different - this tutorial should be helpful to you in that case.

To insert the Map16Page.bin, open LM's Map16 editor and press F3. The current version of LM favors .map16 files, but .bin is still supported.

First, make sure you have a folder that you can have your hack in.
Second, extract the SMW GFX by pressing the red mushroom button.
Third, go to the Graphics folder that was made in the folder of your hack. (Wait, they're global GFX, right?)
Put the .bin files in the places of the GFX you want replaced.
Last but not least, insert the GFX by pressing the green mushroom button. (This is how to replace global GFX, by the way.)

If you want to have ExGFX for just one level,
click the blue mushroom button.
Put the ExGFX .bin files in the "ExGraphics" folder.
Rename them to ExGFX80 and so on. (Case sensitive, and it must be 80 or higher.)
Then finally, click the yellow mushroom button to insert them.
(Warning: Make sure to extract and insert the normal GFX before doing this or you might get garbled graphics.

To use .bin files for Map16, press F3 and choose your "Map16Page.bin" file.

Hope this helped!

Actually, I meant that the PALLETES are .bin files. I tried changing the extension to .pal but that screws stuff up. Anyone know a solution?
(sorry I didn't say it the first time.)
Hm, I see... have you tried chaning it to .tpl yet? (Not sure if that's a different format, but it can't hurt to try.)

Once I get the .bin files I'll try that.
EDIT: Changing it to .mw3 fixes my problem! Thanks to Alcaro for the help and mods can close this.
