Two Simple Graphics Problems

In my switch palace and in my castle, I have two unrelated problems.

In the switch palace, when I hit the switch, the squished switch looks like two eggs. Why is that? I was wondering if it had anything to do with me having blocks or sprites in the same level as it.

In my castle, I have it set to a vertical level with a dark background. At the beginning, everything looks fine, but when i re-enter the level or enter at the mid-point (same spot) there's garbage in the background and it's there no matter how I set the camera. Why is that? It works fine for the beginning no matter how the camera is set, so why not at the mid-point entrance?

1: Set SP3 to GFX0D. If the message is garbled, set SP4 to GFX14.

2: Put the entrance on an evenly numbered screen (00, 02, 04, 06, etc), not an uneven one (01, 03, 05, 07, etc).

Thanks. I fixed the switch palace, but the garbage in the castle is still there. I moved the main entrance from screen 15 to 16 and the mid entrance is at A (I didn't move it). And it still has a garbage background whether I use the secondary or midway entrance (both on the left side and bottom of the screen (in the same place)) and it doesn't matter how I set the camera.
