Upcoming ASM workshop

Why isn't the workshop letting me enter?
I'm sorry, but I'm not good at SMW hacking, so I gave up on it. That means I'm leaving SMWCentral. Bye!
What does it say when you try and enter?
Never mind. I got to the workshop.

EDIT: Why isn't anyone there?

The second session didn't really happen because (I assume) the first one dragged on too long. This was a very good slap in the face for us; we were pretty unprepared and decentralized throughout the whole thing. I'm hoping to have things go smoother next time.

This was good practice, though!

Edit: One of us will filter through the logs at some point, then release them.
Sessions are over. How did it go? I basically didn't join because I saw a lot more questions being asked than answers given out. I'm wondering if it was a wise call.
SMWC's official dentist since 2011.

When will the workshop be continued?
I heard in 2 weeks, will that go the same way as this?

It's not like timezones are hard to figure out at all... Plus, I doubt that your computer houses the only clock in your house.

Specific date is TBA, but we'll announce it when we figure it out.

No, but my sense of time is off, and I have to be holed up in my room most of the day because I have a tube in my stomach.

I think only part of the problem was the decentralized nature of the workshop. The other part was that a lot of people seemed to grasp the bare basics already, which were covered for at least two hours. There were about 45 people in the channel, with maybe 15-20 actually there to learn, and from what I can tell, a lot of them didn't even jump in until the "meaty" stuff started being covered.

Suggestion for next time: get right to the stuff people want to hear, or better yet, start with answering questions people may have. I know in school (math, specifically), it's quite important to cover theory and such before you tackle applications, but in this case, you can learn a good chunk of the background stuff as you go along - at least, I did, especially with bitwise operations and such.

Regardless, as long as even one person took something away from the workshop (and from what I saw, a few who stuck with it did), then I'd say it was a success.
Darn I missed it =/ Stupid MIRC would not connect >_< Oh well I guess it is up to me to get better =D Wow, too many 2-letter words right in a row there haha.

to hear birds and see none.
If MIRC won't work for you, try XChat-WDK before trying mibbit, that REALLY should be your last option.
