Welcome to the thread for something I like to call my 'rubber band ball hack'. As of 2 seconds ago I'm sure most of you are wondering what I mean by 'rubber band ball hack'. Let me explain. When one makes a rubber band ball (Google it if you're even more confused), one tends to add to it when they are bored. There is no strategic plan, schedule, or pattern to these additions. They're just added as and when a person feels like it. I'm adopting a similar technique in hacking. I'll add to this hack whenever I feel like doing so.
The hack takes place approximately a year after the events of Super Mario Galaxy. One day, Mario recieves a letter from Peach requesting that he come to the castle. Mario arrives to find out that trouble is afoot. Peach tells Mario of the Starhold. After the events of Super Mario Galaxy, the power stars were mostly reborn and returned to a primative state where they were not of enough intelligence to distribute star power fairly.
The Starhold is a machine orbiting around the Earth built to solve this problem. It absorbs the energy from the power stars and distributes it as is needed. Peach tells Mario that the Starhold was taken over by a great evil who is intercepting the star power.
Peach requests that Mario heads to Skypass and use the launch star there to go to the Starhold and make everything normal again. But sometimes things are easier said than done...
Below a level list featuring video links of all completed or in progress levels.
You're off to a great start with this. I love the title screen, and that level looks great. Something about your level design reminds me of the 3D Mario games, which is interesting. I can't wait to see more of this.
Outline for my hack's bonus game. It's going to be an SMB3 battle mode throwback like you couldn't tell. Eventually the top pipes will spawn Spinys, Bob-ombs, moving coins, and 1ups randomly. They will vanish through the bottom pipes. The gimmick is, you can play the bonus game till the 50 second timer runs out or you get hit by an enemy (either one of these happening will simply end the game rather than harm Mario).
Since it's currently not in action, I accessed it through my obligitary level 104
