“The moment you declare a set of ideas to be immune from criticism, satire, derision, or contempt, freedom of thought becomes impossible.” - Salman Rushdie

In all seriousness though, Lil B and a large portion of mainstream music these days are total non-sense. There is so much wrong with the music out nowadays...

Seriously, that is just NOT music at all. The thing wrong with the music industry is that there is too much music talent show, i.e X Factor, based crap and far too much Pop and R&B.

I wouldn't base it on genre necessarily, but too much music out nowadays without a purpose/good lyrics. I wouldn't mind hearing any type of music so long as it has purpose. IMO, music is basically another form of poetry, you wouldn't wanna read a poem without a meaning, just like you wouldn't wanna listen to a song without a meaning.

I don't think R&B is bad. R&B isn't just Rihanna and stuff. R&B is actually older than that, and i've quite liked some of the older tunes.
i just lurk sometimes

this is what's wrong with the music industry

edit: pretend you asked 'what's wrong with the music industry?'

to answer the question, nothing at all. there are 3 ways to look at this.

1.) this is very marketable. people want to be cool.
A.) this guy is not being serious. this is a parody of the first way to look at it, and even then it is still 'cool'.
..) do you even listen to music? here are 5 albums (with sample) that came out in 2011. just 5. i can give you a bunch more if you want.
