What are you playing?

So yeah, this is the Gaming forum's twist on the Bar and Grill. Anything that doesn't warrant a full thread can be posted here. Post about what you're playing, what you've played, or what you're looking to play.

Anyways, I just got my hands on the 3DS, mostly because it was effectively $20 off the already low price at Target. Ocarina rocks as expected, as does VVVVVV, but it seems the eShop is still quite underpopulated even with the inclusion of DSi downloads. Next purchase will probably be Mario Kart 7, but that won't be for a while since I've bought a lot recently.
Gotten back into Minecraft, being that its basically the only thing this computer can play. Currently building a tower to sky limit. Hell yea.
I've been waiting for Kid Icarus: Uprising ever since they showed stuff on the last Nintendo Direct. It looks like a game filled with a lot of content and a fun competitive online battle mode, and very challenging too. Gonna buy it as soon as I can. I've also been trying to get eShop credit to buy Rolling Western, looks like a neat blend of tower defense and adventure.

I have been playing Monster Hunter Tri, which I found kinda boring at first, but then I saw how amazing it can be when playing online (although we havent been playing recently).

Anyways, I think I'm getting Snake Eater 3D (since I told my cousin to get me it, he should be here in 3 days, tho I dunno if he actually got it), which I hope isnt as bad as I hope it will be, because I'm already feeling a bit of remorse because of the rather low framerate and resoution it runs on the 3DS. I guess I could sell it to a friend after I beat it or not...

I'm going to look into that as soon as I get my wii back. I must know what all the hubbub is when I hear you guys talking about it.

Anyways, I started on playing Ghost Trick a couple hours ago and I've fallen in love. The concept is pretty great, and the execution is spot on. The story to gameplay ratio is about the same, which would normally kinda irk me, but in this case I don't really mind.
I really hated Monster Hunter Tri. It was hella boring and pointless. Meh.
I'm still trying to get the 25 bonus coins needed to access the last Krematoa level in Donkey Kong Country 3 (found out the hard way it was worth more than the usual 15), but I can't seem to get the bonus barrel in Buzzer Barrage near the end. Apparently I have to somersault on top of the Kopter guy, but when I try to jump on him, I end up losing a Kong. I'm also having immense trouble with the 'collect 15 bananas' game in Swoopy Salvo. Not only is the bonus room itself hard, but getting to it without getting hurt requires godly timing.
Yeah, for some reason the SNES classics (or something like them) appeal to me more.

Huh, you simply jump onto the head of the Kopter guy and bounce into the bonus barrel that way. I still have to finish DKC3, I stopped at somewhere Krematoa getting the remaining bonus coins to unlock the last level.

Me, I'm just playing Touhou (only 10-13, the rest is meh) like a fanatic and managed to finish the last Extra Stage in the bundle. Now that I achieved what I wanted, I can work on 1CC'ing the games on higher settings than Normal.

..I really should find another game to play.
Currently, I'm playing Pokemon Pearl. I would've played Diamond, but someone stole it, so that wasn't an option. It's pretty nostalgic, but at the same time it feels new because I'm actually taking it seriously by creating a team this time around.

You're missing out on a couple of eShop games. I'll recommend some that I've enjoyed.

Pushmo
Really fun game. It's a puzzle game that involves pushing, pulling, and sliding blocks out and back in in order to reach the goal. When you start out, it's very simple (requiring no thought) but the further you get, the harder the puzzles get. At that point, it's like Chess (you have to think ahead), but you pretty much need to think the whole thing through before you can even consider starting. And you can even create your own puzzles and share them using QR codes. Believe me, you will have a blast with this game.

Mighty Switch Force!
Another fun game. Most of the videos you'll see of it make it look like an action game, but it's more of a puzzle game than anything. You take charge of a police woman named Patricia Wagon, and your goal is to capture all of the escaped prisoners as quickly as you can (there's no punishment for taking too long, though), solving some pretty devious puzzles in realtime (you need quick reflexes). It even has a kickass soundtrack! Seriously, give it a try.

Those are the only two original eShop games I've downloaded, but that's mainly because I'm holding onto my $40 until Kid Icarus comes out. Some games I'm interested in are Dillon's Rolling Western and Sakura Samurai.
Right now, I'm playing VVVVVV. If you don't know, it's an extremely great platformer that seems incredbily simple, until you learn of the game's main gimmick... http://thelettervsixtim.es/ <--- the website

I was going for No Death Mode's trophy, but I died in a room named "1954 World Cup Vinyl". I was so nervous I messed up there (the room is in the last area of the game.) I doubt I'll try again in a while, but I'm having loads of fun with the level editor.

I'm looking to play a nice but difficult RPG besides of Final Fantasy whatever. Any recommendations?

I've been mainly playing Rock Band 3. I've got first place on a lot of the songs on guitar and bass on the Wii Leaderboards. I buy DLC for RB3 whenever I can. I have 255 downloaded songs on the game. There are only 2 songs I cannot get 5* on. Both of these are Dragonforce tracks. Operation Ground & Pound is fucking INSANE!

I've also been playing Skyrim and am now 58 hours into the game still not completed.
Same as Volke, Minceraft has been my game for a little bit. Currently building an all-purpose farm in Survival, and about to build a mob grinder in Creative.

Got Rayman 2 - The Great Escape for free on Steam, because I pre-ordered Rayman Origins. It's quite fun... although, the button mapping seems a bit weird for me (as I'm playing on a gamepad).

..but I got used to it pretty quickly.

Just played "The Town with no Name", had the game long ago but forgot about it and then saw Ersanio's av, this game is just ultimate.
I saw the reviews of the old mags about this quickly, they had more than the half of the points in one of the reviews, maybe because it was animated.

Give me a drink, bar tender!

I haven't played that game actually, but I saw an amazing video of it by "retsupurae", and the video was titled "True Shit". Their commentary was golden.

Do you actually have a real copy of that game, or did you play it on an emulator?

Also, these days I've been playing Shatter (gimmick-y brick-breaking game). Most notably, the endless mode.

I've been playing GunZ The Duel with Blackeagle766 which is pretty fun :D

Once I get a USB SNES controller adapter, I might also play some emulator games. Definitely looking forward to it.
My blog. I could post stuff now and then

My Assembly for the SNES tutorial (it's actually finished now!)

Nah, just followed what they said on google, a rom and playing on WinUAE, still, I have a pretty low framerate and sometimes the voices activate when there is no cutscenes (tried with different versions of WinUAE).
My favorite scene was with the ugly 3D horse, the music is also pretty awesome (and should be used in Production 2)
Yes, I learned about this game through the retsupurae too. But you'll see that there were videos of it before the retsupurae, thanks to them for being famous!
And I'm pretty sure finding a real copy of this game and a CDTV will be "Impossible Mission" unless I use ebay and pray. But well, I won't waste money for that I think. :P

Speaking of avs, SNN's reminded me I still haven't played Aquaria (just played the demo and found it awesome, even if some people didn't enjoy it because it reminded them Ecco, well, I like Ecco).
Heh minecraft is not that fun but im on daily motion!
and wart is awesome
I've been playing a lot of NCAA Football 12 lately. I've always enjoyed Sports games and I love the dynasty mode where you can build a football program up to superstardom.

Let's just say that Arkansas State will most likely be a powerhouse eventually.
Mario's Vanilla Journey

Progress: 22/72 levels complete
Okay, so I finally got the last few bonus rooms in DKC3 and made my way to the last brutal bonus level before the second final boss, Rocket Rush (I even beat that damned minigame in Swoopy Salvo!). It pretty much requires memorization and to have both thumbs on either side of the D pad because the left and right controls are reversed, and you're a one hitpoint wonder.

Been playing a bunch of PS2 rpgs since my computer can handle half-decent ps2 emulation (not fast enough for most action games, but fine for rpgs). Mostly been replaying SMT: Nocturne. Such a great game.

As of late, I've been terribly obsessed with the Shin Megami Tensei games. I've played Imagine, Devil Survivor, and Strange Journey; Devil Survivor is my favorite by far. I love how much it emphasizes genuine tactics and downplays the "survival" element that pervades throughout much of the RPG genre today. The latter two are good, as well; the element of obtaining demons gives all of them an addictive property that I've yet to see be paralleled outside of the franchise.
