For people who don't want to make their own .spc showoff thread. Please comment on other's works in addition to posting your own.
For the users that don't know about this yet: Opt.bnk made by Slash Man.
It's basically a bank with shrinked SMW samples, which allows for more samples in one bank.
It might be unnecessary with the upcoming AddMusicK, but it isn't out yet, and some users seem to use clunky alternatives.
Aw sh.... Ahh the new style was to good to last. Now, like, people are gonna neglect the threads whilst just responding/posting on this one. My thread's unpopular enough, I don't need this to >_>
To be truthful, I didn't like the whole "everyone gets their own thread system" anyways, I always thought it was more convient to post here, WHEN I actually do post. (Don't want to get hit by the mods for making a useless PostCount++ post)
It's a lot quicker to go here and find good spc's than go to the SPC's Sticky Thread and navigate through each thread, listen to music, and then not even know anything useful to say instead of just "Wowz, this Is looking Eggselent" <- Bad thing about that, is not only the grammar, but how can you look at a port, you can only listen to it.
Eh, I'm bashing myself here, but the point is, this thread is a lot more convient, and over all, you get to see everybody's ports. Like OGS's and your own. As a plus, the new system with SPC Showoff's was like socialism, and socialism leads to communism, and THAT eventually fell into itself because it couldn't sustain itself; that is why there is no more Soviet Union. As of the moment of it's creation, the "new" SPC Showoff system is the "Soviet Union" in the example I just gave.
Besides, you're bound to get replies here, because for one thing:
"People visit a massive thread more than they visit seperate". This thread has no fancy title, it is exactly what it says on the tin. And that's what you get. People won't be able to dodge your ports on this thread, because they'll be here where everybody goes and not in a thread anybody barely visits; I know from experience. (that is to say if they intensionally don't click it)
I really have to thank Core and consequently 757, because he asked him how to reproduce the weird effect in the Lead instrument so I could make it even closer to the original.
Comments would be appreciated.
Oh wow, I loved it before but with the pitch oscillation - that sounds awesome! The only comments I have is that the sawtooth/ square sounds a tad sharp(?) and the frequency on the pitch oscillation is a little low. Also that instrument randomly becomes louder after it's introduced for the first time in the song, no idea if it's like that in the original...
@CY: You can't nint/cap/any fucking tool - spc most Square (Enix) songs. (and I think some other RPG's that aren't by Square like; Dragon Quest 1,2,3,4)
Oh wow, this sounds really good, but sample 09 seems like its loop point is off (not even sure if it's a custom sample though) but apart of that sounds accurate and epic like the original, good job man.
Heh, I want to show my first and second attempts at porting by ear, the first one it's empty because lacs of percusion (it's really hard to port), the second it's complete but I only ported the main melody by ear, the percusion and bass channels are extracted from a midi .-.
Out of all the ports I've heard here as of this post, this is probably my favourite. The slow melody, in my opinion, fits very well for a more intense level. Very excellent for a water level as well. Great going on this.
@OGS93: Beat 'Em Up, definitely sounds like something for a boss battle. I can see somebody getting their ass handed to them with this song playing. Not really any criticism I can offer at the moment, but still excellent port none the less.
