Welcome everybody! Welcome System supporters, Chester cultists supporters, Pokey lovers, and all! I am proud and happy to announce the release the teaser trailer for our second site-wide collaboration hack, SMWCP2!

[size=100]EPIC LINK</span>

We give a huge thanks to the people who has helped out at the forum! But this isn't to be taken that anyone who hasn't helped out CAN'T help out anymore - actually, it's quite the opposite!

You can help out by testing, finding bugs, fixing bugs, making graphics, and other things outside of gameplay! We are currently waiting on three levels, and if the two non-final levels get done, we will start discussing and making overworld things.

There's A LOT of stuff to do before the hack is done - check it out some time.

For now, watch and enjoy!

What? The hack isn't done yet!

Cool trailer either way. Should've done something regarding Norveg, but that's just my opinion.

Well, it is a teaser...and currently there is nothing on Norveg inserted in the hack (I wouldn't want to put up the Art for it). Thanks NMI!
How did I miss this?

Pretty great trailer! Getting me heated up for the final game. This sure looks like a huge improvement over SMWCP.

Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
I think you did a good job with this trailer. Many people don't know how to make trailers, but this one is great. The key is not to hang on one section of level for too long; show more segments that are shorter.
Working on stuff again 👀
Thank you to everybody! Although, making a trailer is not that big of a deal - what the trailer good was the content of the game. I am so looking forward when we finally finish things up with the hack!
Awesome, could only be better if I hadn't already seen the development of those levels XD

That's why I really wanted to have a teaser to be out, to see if the people who HASN'T seen any, or most, of these levels will recieve it with wide arms - and as it stands, it's going well. This time around, a little hype wouldn't hurt (actually, it would benefit, after SMWCP's flaws)
That's really a great teaser!

Nice job!

Thanks!
Giant Shy Guy, that is a hundred different kinds of awesome.

Kinda makes me said I didn't come back to hacking sooner... I missed out on getting involved in the first one and I think I'm too late to do anything for the second. =/

Ah well, there's always the third and I can't help but smile when I see my Ice Brother sprite getting some love.

Thanks! Worked hard on making it look professional!

Oh quite the contrary! There's a lot of other work that needs to be done - tons of graphics needs to be made, some sprites need to be fixed, we're looking for boss makers, we yet to make the overworld, overworld sprites are one of the main things being thought of, tons of bugs are still existent, along with bugs that haven't been found yet...

Level making might be at its end, but it isn't the only important thing here! I mean, the body would not work properly if one of the organs doesn't work!

You have a sprite here? *puts in Credits List*
You succeeded. It is very well made.

Well, to be fair, the Ice Bro is really just a Boomerang Bro with a minor tweak. The Iceball itself was more original, but that's an incredibly simple sprite all things considered. IIRC, that was my first custom sprite. Now if the Autobomb gets used at all, that's certainly something I'm proud of even if it does have a few issues that could be improved.

As for spritework and bosses... Well, I'm nowhere near as good as some of the people out there, but I've coded a handful of simple ones. That was two years ago though so I'm not sure how I stand with ASM skills at the moment. If someone gave me an idea or atleast a general sort of theme to work with, I might give it a try though.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

Could you lend over the GFX you used for the Bros, assuming you made them?

I did and can, though only for SMWCP2. However, there are a few notes about them that you should be aware of.

I'm using the 16x32 Hammer Brother sprite. The 16x24 is too short for those graphics.

I've remapped them from the ones in the sprites section but can supply the files if you'd rather have that than remap the ones from the sprites section. Some minor tweaks might be needed but nothing big (for example, the Bob-ombs in my hack use palette E and the Bomb Bro reflects that when he's holding one).

They take up quite a bit of graphics space. 9 16x16 tiles if you want the Fire Bros to use a spitting animation instead of a throwing animation. 6 if you're fine with them using a throwing animation. The boomerangs of course take up an additional 2 tiles and I've redone both the fireball and iceball. The fireball uses the same fire tiles Mario does and the Iceball is another two 8x8 tiles. You COULD reduce that by one or two more if you don't have their feet animate when their arms are in a throwing position (as they are set up in the sprite section), but IMO, that just looks wrong.

As my ExGFX file is set up, no other SP3 sprites can be used than Yoshi, the bouncing note block, and Chargin' Chuck (and if I'm not mistaken, only Chargin' Possibly some of the Chucks that use the SP4 slot though). If you use a 6-tile setup instead of the 9, you can probably free up the fish and a few more chucks.

My Hammer Brother graphics are styled after my Koopa graphics. They're essentially the same thing, but with helmets and different arm positions. You might want those as well if you want to use the Hammer Brothers.

And out of curiosity, I'd like to know if the graphics would be used globally or just for a level or so. It doesn't make any difference, I was just wondering.

Globally.
*shrug* Let me know where you want them sent and I'll get a few things together for you.

Your best bet would be MrDeePay or SNN.

Hey guys! It seems like we got the Production on GoNintendo again!

Link!
So, the trailer has been well received for the most part, and it's embedded on a handful of website, one of them called "glitch.cl", a Spanish video game website.

Well, it got a very interesting "article" (dunno what to call it) for it:

You know that in modern times, it is normal that there's rom hacks and etc, where we have rarely seen works of art, which is behind an amazing job.

Well, Super Mario World Central Production 2 is an example of what just said. In the trailer we highlight here,? Can see the great visual level the game has so far repeatedly notice that has an art closely linked to indie ... And why not? If it's plumber simple fans, trying to give his own view of the success of Super Nintendo.

Linky!

It's quite an interesting view, and it makes me a little happy that I did accomplish making SMWCP2 look great to first time viewers.

Though, it wouldn't be for the fact that the hack itself is already awesome, I just took videos of them :>

maybe I should have included my level to increase my e-go

I kid.

~

EDIT: We all know that Google Translate sucks, but I used that since I was guessing it gave of the gist of what it meant.

It was close - aj kindly translated it accurately:

You all know that nowadays, the existence of ROM hacks is very normal, but we rarely get to see actual pieces of art, where there is an unbelievable work behind.

Well, Super Mario World Central Production 2, is a simple example of what I just mentioned. In the trailer featured here, you will be able to see the great visual level the game has reached up to now, you will notice, in various occasions it has an artwork related to the indie style… And why not? If it’s just some fans of the plumber, trying to give their own view on this success of Super Nintendo.

Now it sounds a lot better!
Sorry for the triple post, but I really need to ask this.

The trailer was embedded on a Japanese (blog) site called "fc2". As per usual with foreign languages, Chrome translated the description that comes with for me.

Reviews and articles for the game "SMW Central Production 2" trailer coterie of Mario. It is based was converted into it in the original Super Mario World. Overseas version of the pattern in the well in Japan. It does not seem difficult though it too.

Even I can tell it's a really bad translation. So Translate comes in here:

The game Mario SMW Central Production 2 trailers. It is based on the original Mario World are modified. Japan is well overseas version of the pattern. seems very difficult.

I'm pretty sure it's still inaccurate, but the end sentence did make me think:

To blind players/viewers, what difficulty did they take from watching the video?

Just a little survey thing. I'm pretty curious of what people think. To any Japanese speakers, if you can give me a better translation, please do so:
