TSRP2R Teaser Trailer

Yeah!

It was a close call, but somehow I managed to get this ready for this year's C3. I mentioned some time ago in my TSRP2-thread that I was planning on doing remakes on both original trailer for TSRP2, so here's the first of the two. Nothing too exciting though, and also pretty much spoilerless - the second one (which I will make when TSRP2R is closer to being actually finished and released) will most likely be more exciting since it will reveal more about the changes for the remake and the plot. But... since I'm not really close to that point in the remake's production this will have to suffice for now. Hope you enjoy nevertheless! :)

For references, you can watch the original trailer which this one was modeled on here.

Yay!

The best hack trailer I've seen in a while. I liked the level design and overall atmosphere of TSRP2 and TSRPR's graphical overhaul, so I'm pretty eager to see the "best of both worlds" with this.

Looking forward to the release.

Cool beans. I like the reference to the old trailers and good lord that techno remix of the TSRP theme is amazing. I liked the style of TSRP2 but this is even better. It sort of feels nostalgic and new at the same time. It's so great that you can pull off such a good progress on a big hack like this, FPI. Can't wait for the release!
I completed TSRP2 years ago and I can't wait to play this remake. Keep up the good work!
Working on Quest on Full Moon Island 2.
Update: May 5, 2016
Amazing! I'm so looking forward to this.

Unlike almost everyone else, I haven't played TSRP2 (yeah, sue me), because I've been waiting for you to release this hack. I've played TSRPR though, and I really liked it, you surely are a skilled level designer and I know this hack will be as good as its prequel.

Keep up the good work!

Same story. I loved TSRPR, but I didn't like TSRP2's mixed style and SMBishness, so I never played it really far. TSRP2R seems like the perfect solution.

This hack will end up being a nostalgia trip for me, which means I'm probably going to love it as much as I loved TSRPR when it was first released. Your combinations of both solid (with a few exceptions) level design and appealing aesthetics always ensure that your levels are both fresh and amusing to play.

Looking forward to this!
i'm really digging the remix of the TSRP theme. and a good remake never hurt anybody. TSRP2 was one of the very first hacks i ever played and playing this remake will surely bring in a whole wave of nostalgia.

TSRP2 is a piece of nostalgia, and this remake is looking crazy awesome, which means I'm really looking forward to this!
Wow....this makes the teaser I made look bad. D=

Good job on this! I haven't thoroughly played any of the TSPR series, but I hope to do so one day.
Looks fantastic - I've always been a fan of your work, (TSRPR especially) and seeing the trailer for this makes me very excited.

Certainly looking forward to this one.
This trailer inspired me to make myself an animated Zycloboo avatar, complete with his "Hee hee hee".

Haha, you even kept the nausea-inducing text effect; brilliant. Does that mean we can likewise look forward to a similar spiritual preservation of the slightly goofy voice acting in the second trailer?
My childhood, Remastered.
Thank you everyone!
And yes, the remake will be mostly a nostalgia trip for some, but I think it will also feature enough new things to keep things fresh and new. At least, that's the plan. :)

Not really, what makes you say that?
I thought your trailer was very well done, too!

Lol, awesome!
Err, I didn't meant "lol". I meant "hee hee hee!" ;)

Yes! I'm looking forward to do that! (I think) :P

I mean, you did a fabulous, FABULOUS, job on this! As I've said, I've yet to play any of your hacks, but, seeing just this...this...it's so enticing and makes me excited! My trailer is basically "here, watch it", while yours really makes you want see more!

I really need to get going on the first second level of TSRPR now...

Anywho, great job!
For the sake of comparison, here's an image I've created based off of the trailers. The left column is from the original trailer, while the right one is from the new one.

As you can see, Cursed Fountain and Death Trap Zone were not included in the updated trailer. The updated versions of Athletic Playground and Temple of Fire were shown instead. I theorize that they were excluded because work on revamping Cursed Fountain had not begun yet, and Death Trap Zone was intentionally left off due to the reworked plot (Remember the original version of the first TSRP and how it had Bowser kidnap the princess in addition to the whole invasion fleet thing?).

Well, I'd say these comparison shots don't do the remake much justice, since in the original trailer I picked levels which looked good right from the start - therefore they aren't "upgraded" much. Still, the majority of levels in the hack needed much more work.

You are right with your assumptions about the "missing/replaced" scenes, though.

--------------------

Looking at it now: I think that Kirby level is still a bit out of place. Kirby's thick outlines for example or those grave stones. They don't fit to your overall design style. That's really the only problem I can see, though.
