Time for the second 24 hour design contest. The last one went rather well, so I'd like to hope that this one will as well. Let me get straight to the point.
THE RULES: I issue a challenge, and you have 24 hours (until tomorrow at noonish EST) to create a level based around that challenge. Submit your levels here in the form of an IPS.
YOUR CHALLENGE: Delete level C7 (the title screen), and create a new one USING MARIO'S ORIGINAL MOVEMENTS. That is, change up the landscape, but do NOT go into the overworld to change the playback ASM. You can be as vanilla or as chocolate as you want. It will simply be scored out of20 50, and the one who uses sprites/blocks in the most creative way will win. Thankfully, the original animation only goes on for about 45 seconds, so you're really only designing a 45 second level or so that "autoplays" itself.
ADDENDUM: Here are just a couple of ideas for things you CAN do, which stay within my requirements:
-Change Mario's starting position.
-Change the gravity of the level.
-Use bounce blocks to hurl Mario around.
-Remove the SUPER MARIO WORLD logo (and all of layer 3 in general if you want).
Also, keep in mind that I'm not really judging music or graphics. If you want to use custom aesthetics in a way that enhance the level quality itself, then by all means do so. I'm really more or less looking for how well you're able to handle the level itself though.
You have until tomorrow at 12:05 PM EST. Good luck.
