Do Not Kill List Petition

The US Government has a "Kill List" which has names of people the government wants to and will eventually kill without due process of law. This petition is meant to counter this unfair list with a "Do Not Kill List" for people to prevent being put on the Kill List.

Link to the Petition

Has a goal of 25,000 for June 29. Currently only has 466 signatures at the time of writing.

How big is this list exactly?
If it's only really terrible people on it, I couldn't care less about this.

From what I've heard and read, it's anyone they consider a threat, and those that have close relation to those people.
This list "allows" them to kill any people who they believe are people on the Kill List everywhere on the planet. It's a nice way to get rid of disagreeable people without judicial consequences. Its mere existence is proof to me, that arbitrariness (who defines who's a threat and who isn't) and inhumanity (because of no judicial process) is what the Government stands for. Even if there were only very bad people such as dictators and mass murderers on the list, it doesn't make the US Government look any better.

Blessed are the ignorant, most of the top 20%, they don't sustain the misery in this perverse world. But if it goes on like that... they might awake once they learn the distribution conflicts the hard way. Hopefully not too soon.

As for the petition, I'm afraid even if enough people sign it, that won't change anything. The people do not rule; direct democracy would give more might to people, but it's just the elections... While there's a difference between choosing between parties and having a choice...

All right, first they had a "Control the internet" law, then a "Kill list", what's next?, "Use of deadly force in citizens"? "Authorize deployment of soldiers in foreign countries"?
Whatever the government wants to destroy by their reasons is none of our business. Indeed that our government could be...off. Still those who are on that list could be mortal enemies of us.

Or it could be you, given that currently the US government currently has the "right" to order the killing of US citizens without trial, provided they are outside of the borders of the US. Or they can just detain you indefinitely without trial. Don't be persuaded by the fear mongering, it is always our business what the government wants to destroy, and we need to keep it in check.

Even if it is only truly terrible people on it now, there is no reason why it can't be expanded to include "enemies of the state", and history tells us that that will happen. I know you are not American, but this is expressly against our founding document, and just generally a natural rights violation.
Should be noted that due process is needed so you know that these people are terrible and aren't just being told that they are. Remove due process and you give people the power to kill by propaganda, essentially.

So the US Government, whiches actions represent the will of the majority of the US people (about 240 Mio elective people) may do whatever they like without it being the business of US people?
(Well, not fully true, since about 50% do NOT support any party. About 50% do not abrade their precious shoe soles anymore to go voting the lesser evil.)
That's a perturbing understanding of democracy you have there. I see, democracy is going to the elections every once in a while and then shutting one's gob until the next election is scheduled.

Dictatorship has become much more acceptable since it robes in legitimation.

That's exactly it. The propaganda machinery runs at full speed 24/7. The worst thing is, that the information the mass media give are considered "serious" and "the truth" by most people without questioning anything. This way, using the mass media, virtually any opinion can be imposed on people.
Concept of the enemies can be generated by the media, so the people will support the Government in their fight against that "enemy". This way, it's very easy to get rid of disagreeable people all around the world in order to accomplish the Government's (mostly economical) interests. I'm not saying that every person on this list is a phantasm-enemy of the US, but it can be abused to do exactly this.

Already done, they can easily make it seem that there is/provoke a genocideor something of the sorts and "interveen".
Hopefully I spelt less than 3 words wrong here :P
Thing is, its not precisely threats on the list, most likely inconveniances...

I hate the world we live in sometimes, and how powerless we are over such a group of people...

No need to take me seriously, just my opinion.

Well, it's probably for terrorists and stuff.

I just hope it's not misused.
It will be misused
I'll probably be put on the list if I release my RPG Maker project,
in which the people in charge of SOPA/CISPA have found a way to bring internet culture to life, used it to make themselves immortal by Hourai Elixir, and ruled the galaxy for 65 million years

You need to keep in mind who is deeming these people terrible enough to kill. Remember, one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter; this is all very subjective. The United States does not have an absolute and inexcusable moral ground, although it definitely likes to act as such. You genuinely do not know these people nor the relationships in regards to the United States. No one is born evil, either. Whether or not there is justification in the killing of these people is entirely subjective and anecdotal. Regardless, apathy to these killings is by far the worse route to go down. With no accountability, there are no protections against abuse. Without protections against abuse; well, history has shown repeatedly how horribly that ends.

Of course, it's unreasonable to expect one to actually put forth the effort to be able to critically analyze all of the country's events; people just don't have the time and effort, and that's alright. However, when it comes to actions that would set an important trend or methodology, such as forming a "kill list," you must give your attention to it. You're either endorsing it or opposing it de facto. The importance is decided by yourself, of course, and you will be judged as such. Society ends up as a culmination of this. If you can't view this as important, than I simply do not agree with your point of view. If you honestly can't do anything about it, then hell, the least you could do is be informed in order to make a valid judgement.
