This hack doesn't meet the standards for length and level design quality. Normally, a hack should give at least 15 minutes of gameplay, and your hack consisted only on one level which took me around two minutes to beat, and with several level design flaws. Also the music crashed when I opened the ROM in snes9x, use either addmusicM
or HuFlungDu's addmusic
to fix that.
The file selection menu has a bad palette.
The overworld looks a bit simplistic, it would look better if you used grass tiles instead of making it just plain green.
These glowing blocks don't look good. Disable the original palette animation in Lunar Magic (coin button).
Lava is not supposed to be a hurt tile, it's supposed to kill you instantly. Speaking of lava, it could seriously use a better palette, same goes for the FG.
Repetitive segment which consisted only in jumping on footballs.
Why did you place these keys? I couldn't find any secret exit in this level (and yes, I looked in Lunar Magic).
This room not only has a bad looking and simplistic palette but it was also quite repetitive and empty, since most of the eeries from the generator aren't actual threats.
Same goes for this room (except this one has a good palette).
Another room with a simplistic palette. Also look at the timer, don't you think it's too low?
Bad Camera position.
These Reznor look very simplistic as well. Also you should disable the disappearing bridge effect because it looks weird, there’s a hex edit for that.
To sum it up, aside from the ugly palettes, you really need to improve your level design and you should make this hack longer, either add more levels to the hack or make this level a lot longer so it fills in the expected 15 minutes. Read the Hack submission guidelines
before you submit this again; you can also read this
in order to improve your level design.
Fun fact: writing this removal log took longuer than finishing the hack.
