I need help with custom graphics.I picked the taomb water castle and yes I watched many tutorials and make everything as they say the graphics are still glitched.I used level 42 in SMW.Help please!

And someone tell me please i made level 10A a cave level but how do I do in a pipe to exit to level 1F1

What is glitched? The graphics or the colours?

If the graphics are glitched, are you sure you clicked on the red poison mushroom and put ExGFX*** as FG3? Actually, this depends on the type of graphic...

Then, would you like to link us to the graphics you downloaded? Just right-click on the downloaded graphic, click on "copy address" and then make a new post putting the link clicking on the A when posting.

So...so...so...

The file you downloaded contains 3 graphics:

ExGFXC5 for slot BG1
ExGFXC7 for slot FG3
ExGFXC6 for slot AN2(animation)

Just inserit those graphics in this order in your hack. Click on yelloy then green mushrooms.

Part 2: You noticed that this have 2 map16page.bin folders...one for the FG(map16page.bin and map16pageG.bin), another for BG(map16page.bin).

Do the FG first: put the two bin files into the folder with the rom. Click on the yellow block, find an empty page and press F3...a window will appear. Select the file map16page.bin and you're done. Save and close the window.

For the BG is the same thing: it only change the empty pages you have to choos. Do like this: click on the geen leaf, this will open the Background of the level. Click on the yellow block again and the window will open. Now, double click on a point of the Background...you'll notice that the Pages of the window opened clicking on the yellow block is changed. Scroll down finding a new empty page, and press F3 and search for the map16page.bin of the Bg folder in the download.

I forgot! yOU MIGHT WANT THE ANIMATION, IS IT?

Then open the sample level, click on the brick block and a window will appear. Click on "COPY ALL SLOTS", then go to the level of your rom, click on the brick block and click "PASTE ALL SLOTS". Now some tiles are animated!

Undersatnded? OK, try it out!#w{=D}
Scroll down finding a new empty page, and press F3 and search for the map16page.bin of the Bg folder in the download.

I can't scroll down to the background
No! You don't have to scroll down the background. When you open the window clicking on the yellow block you can see the SMW graphics and some blue squares. Now open the background and double click on it.

In the window with blue squares, you see that something changed, that's it because the first pages of this window will have the FG, the second ones will have the BG. Scroll down the window with blue squares and press F3 when you find an empty page with all squares.

Is it ok?
Now it has different colors, why why WHYYYYY.
Did you remember to add the pl file using the star?

If you click the star in Lunar Magic you'll have the palette of the level. You can change colours of sprites, graphics and more!
If the palette of standard SMW is weird, it's normal.
If the palette of your custom graphics are weird, you probably forgot to inserit the .pal file in the level.

If you don't find it in the download, extract it to the sample level...remember? I already told this to you in a PM!#w{=D}
Using the left-pointing star on the left of the palette editor, NOT the one on the right! The stars on the right glitch up the entire SMW!
That one inserts the palette to your level. If it says to replace your existing palette file, CLOCK CANCEL! You clicked the wrong star.

Your layout has been removed.
It's even more complex than custom sprites.Man I am nearly done but the FG has a weird color and the BG is glitched entirely.
If the FG is glitche you have to set:

ExGFXC5 for slot BG1
ExGFXC7 for slot FG3

You should have the ExGFXC7 for FG3!

For the colours, you have to go to:
File->Palette->Import palette from file...

Select the "3rd Castle.tpl" file, and here we go. You will have both the FG and BG with the right colour.

I know this is complex, but practicing, you will be a real noob in hacking!#w{xD}#w{xD}

And level 42 how do I put to ovwrworld?
Well, you need to design the level as normal and point the screen exit as normal too.

As for the overworld levels, thanks to the SMW map thingy, you can only use levels 0-24 to 101-13B.

A gfx replacement? Ok, maybe you don't have this tool. With this, you can open GFX bin files, and you can edit them.

You have to learn to use this program, because, if you want your own graphics or just you want to edit them, this is the tool for you!
1 - How do I change the background?
In LM, you need to click on the Green Leaf button "Open 'Background Editor' Window" and then you can modify BG the way you want.

E: Don't forget that you use tiles +40 to BG (check the 16x16 tile map editor window).
What +40?
Another thing:I deleted the whole BG before.Is this ok?
