Now this looks like a fun concept.
I'm liking the screenshots and productivity so far, very choconilla.

EDIT: Since your site is dead or something, what's up with the music? What addmusic is being used and can non-original music be used?

We are currently using AddmusicM. And I think we are only using non-original music. But I could be wrong.

We're using AddmusicM.
You can use any type of music you wish -there's no restriction on that.
I like the bubble idea. Kinda reminds me NSMBW.

Progress!
That looks really nice, Mario's Hat. =) I really like the palettes and overall atmosphere the level has so far.

I've no major complaints so far - which is a good thing - so I'm looking forward to more progress. Keep it up.
It's looking good. I like the palette, it fits well with the atmosphere.
Mario's Hat, I'm Really Impressed, The difficulty is balanced, the Palettes are very good and most importantly, The Level Fesing is very good, which is something I always expect from you.
Encase your wondering, no, I don't have any progress due to me working on a "semi-secret" project as well as packing up my 9th Special World Contest Entry (Yikes, I better move, the deadline is coming faster then a speeding bullet *shot*).

By November, I'll be less busy, so that will give me time to work on my level and a snow level for MLINTF.

If you guys want to see my idea:

The flouting bubbles are moving up and down as if it where a real bubble. I also attend to put in some toxic bubbles so it adds a bit of a challenge (It will act as death, it won't be the reversing controls water)

And actually, I am not stealing "JDC's idea" or anything. Besides, it won't hurt to have 2 levels with bubbles would it?

Not at all. Provided the two levels are different enough. They should be though as we have slightly different level design styles.

Oh, and on the subject of progress, I haven't seen any affirmation that the following people are working on their levels:

007 - Underwater City Theme - King DeDeDe
00C - Desert Ruins theme - Cobra
00E - Oasis Theme - Jonny
020 - SMB3 Airship - GeminiRage

I'll give the following people two weeks to show some form of update. I think that is reasonable. If I fail to see something by then though - I may have to pass your level onwards unfortunately.
I've been working on my level for those two last days like I told you on IRC. Guess it's time to show what I've got so far:



That's the second part of the level, and it's vertical. I haven't mixed the cave tilesed with grassland like I did previously to make it more organized. Once I finish this part, I'll design a two-screen goal room. I may think on making a bonus room later too.

I'm glad to see an update on this =). That's looking good so far Austin, I like how it looks palette and atmosphere wise at the moment. From what I can see level design wise, it seems to be pretty interesting so far. One small thing though, are there going to be other sprites in the level than koopas and paratroopas? If it's just due to the screenshots, then that's fine.

That's looking really good so far Austin. =) I like the palette you have used as well as the general decoration. The only thing I could suggest at the moment would be to use some more tileset specific enemies instead of the normal ones.
So the good news is that I've got some work done:

I am going to be using Monty Moles, Pokey's and Volcano Lotus'es as the enemy's. As well as some Koopas and Goombas along the way.


That's all I got.

I am running out of idea's that are non-Kaizo related. What do you think otherwise?

i recently took on a choco-island level.







it's slowly coming along. still working on the palletes and such.

@ShadowFire, The level's looking good so far. The palette and atmosphere definitely needs to be more chocolately though to fit in with the overall atmosphere.

@Daizo, Looking good! Are those bubbles moving on layer 2 per chance?
If you're running out of ideas, why not include some stationary bubbles?

Also, the base ROM is getting some errors in unfortunately. I'm trying to fix them all, and when I do, the base ROM will be released.
You know, it would really help if we had a lot more communication. I had no idea my special world level was being taken from me until I happened to check the old site and see that ShadowFire had it. I probably might've dropped it in the future anyways, but it still would have been nice to receive a PM saying I was on the verge of losing the level or that it was being dropped from me instead of just giving it to somebody else without warning.

I suggested to you that it would be better to find somebody else to choose the trailer music already so you can't really hold me to that. Plus I've been busy dealing with moving all this week.

Well, I'm not the only one who hasn't showed progress for those levels in awhile (Plus I recall one of you guys saying we didn't have deadlines for those.) But regardless I don't have a problem with the level being dropped. My problem was with the lack of communication.

I'd gladly oblige. I have some ideas for a jungle theme. Are we permitted to play with Map16 data and loose amounts of ExGFX?

The minute I read "jungle", inspiration struck, in fact.

That was what immediately popped into mind.

Also, are there any other world 4 levels I could play first in order to steady the difficulty?
