Very nice screen. The dark colours certainly create a very mysterious and rainy feel to the level. I really like the pipe corners as well. One thing is that I'd probably change the colours of the Bomb Boos mouth; I don't really like the yellow, I think you should probably change it to black.

I think it looks okay, and if I made it black it would be kinda hard to see, because of the pretty dark BG. Also got the problem of the boos not working with explosion sensitive blocks fixed :3
Just thought I'd show some more of the exploding boo level. Also thought that I should tell you that I had a hard time not stoping SMW hacking yesterday, but I'm okay again :3
As you can hopefully see in the last two screens I decided to use dissappearing and re-appearing blocks in the level as another gimmick.

Now I'm getting the title thing. Choconilla Rise: as you progress, the amount of chocolate stuff is gradually implemented. And you're doing well. Still I didn't find an answer to how did you apply this brightness gradient over the Layer 3 BG without using the SMW brightness register. But I don't care, I won't be using this kind of stuff in my current team project.
Anyway, it's always nice to see some more progress here.

Actually it's not, I guess that's just me mixing up the style a bit and trying to get the most out of it.
The gradient is a normal HDMA color gradient btw. The Layer 3 clouds are just transparent.

Seems Really Awesome Underway, the Level Design is Really Impressive, also, the Moonsong looks nice for the level, but if You want to try other... ok, I don't have suggestions on the moment.

this chained castle block is one of the most gorgeous thing to ever grace my eyes.
That being said: The only problem i see with the screenshot is the waterfall's palette. don't know if is only me, but they seem to be part of the FG instead of the BG.
But sweet screen! I like the half grassed stone block Mario's standing on and the HDMA, but as Ludus said, the waterfall seems a bit dark.My Youtube-Channel

I keep forgetting about this thread, even though it has some amazing level design in it. That pic right there... wow, the palettes and mixture of graphics is great! I am putting that bar in my sig to remind me of this thread, I am forgetful haha.
