I was wondering, how many frames does a P-switch timer last for?
Two hundred and fifty-five or two hundred and fifty-six. I'm not sure which of the two it is (it depends on when the timer decrement code runs), but I doubt that matters to you.

It lasts longer than that. 255 frames is about 4 seconds.

My guess would be ~16 seconds, or 255 x4. That's without actually looking at the p-switch timer code though.'re right, that timer doesn't tick each frame.

$01AB1A sets the timer to #$B0.
$00C513 ticks it down every fourth frame.
#$B0 times 4 is 704 frames (~11.7 seconds), with an error margin of 4 frames in either direction.

(assuming I didn't misread it somehow)
