For what ever reason why I record off of my capture device (which records through composite cables so I can record my Wii, Xbox, ect.) 99 time out of 100 the audio desyncs in some way weather it barely desyncs or it dose it completely.
Also it's not just drifting off, the video will be fine, then suddenly the video will speed up or slow down, desyncing the audio. Then the video will speed up or slow down to try to match the audio again, some times it does some times it doesn't, it's a mess! This has gone on for a while now and I'm tired of having to scrap whole videos because of this!
capture device: Pinnacle Studio MovieBox
Program: Pinnacle Studio 12 (planning on switching to Sony Vegas or something like that.)
I am really sorry for the late response+bump, but I CAN answer this question for the person who asked or people who might also need help with this.
Basically it is caused by frame skips, which is usually caused by your CPU(Processor) not encoding the frames fast enough, so the video is behind the audio(or ahead at times when it tries to catch up).
Pinnacle is stupid about their capture devices with program compatibility, only a few programs are acceptable for it.
But yeah, the problem is Frame Skips, basically you will need either a faster processor and(or) a different capture program.
