For this little hack I decided to create my own ExGfx (for the first time).
There are three main things I'm aiming at while editing:

- a straight and clean but detailed design
- some kind of three-dimensionality (simple lighting and perspective lines)
- level matchs the overworld


I would like to add something I saw some time ago in a video but I
don't know a keyword for this:

I want Mario to get from one level to another only by leaving the last
screen (without using a pipe or door, just by leaving the screen). I
hope someone can tell me where to find a tutorial or where to search
for this.

Oh man. This is looking quite neat! I must say I absolutely love your overworld, man. The shading on the cliffs is just incredible and looks very nice. The whole overworld is also designed nicely and the overall look is just stunning. Great job with that!

As for the level (graphical impression): it's looking good. Not much to say about, though. Something about the grassland graphics is bothering me, though I can't quite put my finger on it. The grass also needs some sort of pattern, too. It's coming along nicely in generall, and I love the smaller birds in the background.

Good luck with this unique project. I don't think I've even seen a 3D styled hack before, so I hope you can actually finish this.
I want more of this.

I'm also with GvS on something being quite odd with the grassland, something perspective wise. I suggest making the green ledge appear wider than the brown stem.

Looks very solid and I like the style you have there. So far you've definitely suceeded with the 3 things you were aiming for. Just a suggestion: why not make the water pseudo-3D too?

A patch like this doesn't exist but there's an easy workaround. Insert and place teleport blocks at the end of the last screen and set the screen destination to the level (or secondary entrance) you want. Then the entrance to the next level should have the "entering pipe" animation to make it look like the player is entering the new area.

furthermore I added some details:

- another tree
- a smaller flower
- grassland (+ pattern & shadow)
- clouds


I'll think about "3D-Water". I'd like to keep up an animated surface
(something I'm not experienced with)- but I will try. :)

Heh, I absolutely adore your graphics style.
It's very indie game-esque and very sharp looking.
A major improvement from loads of awkward looking and style-less 3D sets I've seen around here.

Excellent stuff right there! I'm loving the 3D style you are going for in the ExGFX and your Overworld is FANTASTIC! I like the sun at the top, the shading on the cliffs, the lighter coloured water near the land and the little boats in the water. #w{=3}

It's not much for now, but I have more good ideas.
It just takes some time to create all this stuff :)
